Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Exit Polls Predict Big Win for NDA as Mahagathbandhan Trails
As polling for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 concluded on Tuesday (November 11), most exit polls projected a decisive victory for the NDA, leaving the Opposition Mahagathbandhan far behind in the race.
According to exit polls conducted by various media and research agencies, the NDA alliance is likely to retain power in Bihar, while the Mahagathbandhan—led by the RJD—has reportedly failed to make significant gains. Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj has shown a disappointing performance, unable to make a major dent in the state’s political landscape.
In the second phase of polling, Bihar recorded an impressive 68.52% voter turnout across 122 Assembly constituencies till 7 p.m. on Tuesday, with the final figures expected to rise. The first phase, held on November 6, had also witnessed a record 64.69% turnout across 121 seats—reflecting the state’s strong voter enthusiasm.
The counting of votes will take place on November 14, 2025, when the final picture of Bihar’s political future will become clear.

Tarkishore Prasad Credits Nitish Kumar for Bihar’s Transformation
Former Deputy CM and BJP leader Tarkishore Prasad said the exit poll results were “not surprising,” attributing the NDA’s success to the progress Bihar has seen since 2005.
“CM Nitish Kumar has transformed Bihar… We trust the voters and the development work we’ve done,” he said confidently.
Opposition Dismisses Exit Polls, Says ‘Final Results Will Tell the Truth’
Congress MP Tariq Anwar questioned the credibility of exit polls, saying they only offer speculation.
“Exit polls are not accurate. They only indicate what might happen—it would not be right to rely on them,” he remarked.
Similarly, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate exuded optimism for the Mahagathbandhan, claiming that “Bihar will teach a lesson” to the ruling alliance for manipulating voter rights.
SP MP Awadhesh Prasad also rejected the projections, asserting that the people of Bihar have “made up their minds” to make Tejashwi Yadav the next Chief Minister.
“This exit poll is wrong… We believe the Mahagathbandhan will win at least 175 seats,” he claimed.
Congress MLA Ajeet Sharma: “Exit Polls Are Entirely Wrong”
From Bhagalpur, Congress MLA Ajeet Sharma dismissed the exit poll predictions, saying the final decision rests with the public.
“Who can say who will win until the counting is done? The Mahagathbandhan will form the government,” he told ANI.

The second phase alone saw 68.79% participation across 122 constituencies, with 1,302 candidates in the fray.
Interestingly, women outnumbered men in turnout despite being fewer in the voter rolls. Provisional data shows 71.6% women voters cast their ballots compared to 62.8% men, marking a strong statement of political participation by women across the state.
Exit Polls Show NDA Edge
Nine major exit polls have predicted a decisive majority for the NDA, projecting between 133 and 167 seats for the coalition. The Mahagathbandhan trails significantly, while Jan Suraaj struggles to make a breakthrough.
The counting of votes is scheduled for November 14, 2025, which will reveal whether these predictions hold true or if Bihar is in for an electoral surprise.
