And the winner is… “Everything Everywhere All at Once”! A look at the film’s 7 Oscar wins
Written by Sanjay Kumar
The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, United States, was the venue for the 95th Academy Awards, where the winners were announced. This year, Everything Everywhere All at Once, a genre-defying movie, received 11 nominations and won seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actress in a Leading Role for Michelle Yeoh, Best Directing, and Best Original Screenplay for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Best Editing for Paul Rogers, Best Actor in a Supporting Role for KeHuy Quan, and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Jamie Lee Curtis.
Although Everything Everywhere All at Once received many nominations, it was not nominated for Best Actor. This category saw a historic event as, for the first time since 1935, five actors who have never been nominated before were selected, with Brendan Fraser winning for his performance in “The Whale.”
This year’s ceremony also marked a milestone as four Asian actors competed across multiple acting categories.
Before discussing other movies, let’s take a moment to understand Everything Everywhere All at Once.
