Covid-19 vaccine appointments may now be scheduled using the Paytm app

Covid-19 vaccine appointments may now be scheduled using the Paytm app
Paytm, a leading fintech company, announced on 14th June that in addition to identifying open slots, users will also be able to book vaccination appointments using the app. Paytm users may now use the app to book vaccination slots for both vaccines Covaxin and Covishield at the closest center.
In a statement, Paytm claimed that the service will “enable Indians conveniently book vaccination slots and build immunity, assisting in the battle against the current pandemic.”
The move comes after the Centre released new rules for the integration of Cowin with third-party developers late last month, making it easier for them to enable vaccination reservations through their apps.
In India, the government has approved 91 such applications to provide COVID-19 vaccination booking slots. Paytm was one of the platforms that got the green light. Paytm Users may use the app to scheduled vaccination, which considers their dosage amount, vaccine kind, age, location, and other aspects. They also have the option of choosing between free and paid vaccines.
Over a dozen firms, including significant digital enterprises like Paytm, MakeMyTrip, and Infosys, are awaiting authorization to provide vaccination reservations, according to CoWIN’s chief R S Sharma.
Many vaccination finder tools have already been made to assist users to get vaccination slots, ranging from Facebook and Google to startups like HealthifyMe. Under45 and GetJab, grew in popularity overnight by alerting users when immunization slots were available and then directing them to the Cowin platform to schedule an appointment.
Paytm app launched a Vaccination Finder feature recently to assist users to locate leads for vaccination slot, which includes details such as the name of vaccine given and the price. To combat the COVID-19 epidemic, India has increased immunization rates. So far, India has given out over 25.4 million vaccinations to eligible people.
The government has started vaccinating people in stages, beginning with those over 60 years old, then those over 45 years old, and most recently, those aged 18 to 44 years old.
