Google launches Pixel 5a with an IP67 rating, know specification, price details

The Pixel 5a smartphone has been launched by Google, as expected. The much-anticipated smartphone was said to have been canceled earlier this year, prompting Google to officially confirm its existence in April. Google debuted the Pixel 5a for certain markets on 17th August, almost three months after announcing it.

It costs $449 (approximately INR 33,000) in the United States, which is reportedly less than the Pixel 4a at launch. Google has confirmed that the Pixel 5a will launch on sale from August 26 in the United States and Japan.

Google Pixel 5a Specification

The all-new Google Pixel 5a supports 5G and is an advance over previous mid-range Google Pixel devices. The IP67 water-resistant rating was a significant addition this year.

In terms of screen size, the new Pixel 5a has a slightly larger 6.34-inch display than the Pixel 4a 5G, which had a 6.2-inch display. In addition, the smartphone features a 60Hz refresh rate and a large 4680mAh battery. Google is also promoting a brand-new Extreme Battery Saver mode.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in the Pixel 5a. There’s a 12.2-megapixel primary sensor and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide secondary sensor on the camera front.

The phone has an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The phone like previous Pixel devices, has a physical fingerprint scanner on the back panel, which is a nice addition, as well as an audio port.

The charger will be included in the retail packaging, and it is an 18W charging brick. The phone comes pre-installed with Android 11 and the manufacturer guarantees three years of free software updates and security patch updates.
