Havells Launches Ceiling Fans With Air Purification Technology

Air pollution in our country is worsening and in order to deal with the issue, Havells, which is a home-grown company has successfully launched its fans with the technology of air purification. Havells is claimed to be the first ceiling fan company with an air purifier in India. The Havells Stealth Puro Air has been launched for an amount of ₹15,000. Furthermore, the company has announced a table fan called Fanmate, which comprises a carbon filter that helps to eliminate bad odours as well as purify the air.
The President of Electrical Consumer Durables, Havells India, Ravindra Singh Negi stated that “The ceiling fan – Stealth Puro Air comes equipped with a 3-stage air purifier that assures to filter PM 2.5 and PM 10 pollutant along with filtration of VOC. It also delivers a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) of 130 cu. m/hr, with a powerful air purification system along with acute efficiency.
As per the company, the ceiling fan that is priced at an amount of ₹15,000 (MOP) comes with technologically innovative features like it has a remote-control operation, under the light as well as LED air purity indicator, to name a few. For silent operation and high air delivery, it also comes with aerodynamic blades.
Fanmate, which is a table fan, is also being launched by the Havells and it is equipped with a carbon filter that helps in removing bad odours along with purifying the air. The Fanmate comes totally equipped with a premium satin matte finish with a leather handle, a touch button that helps to ease operations, a USB port for mobile charging, a USB cable that helps in operating the fan through a laptop or normal mobile charger, along with that it also has a battery backup of up to three hours.
In addition to Stealth Puro Air and Fanmate, Havells has been active in launching its 16 new products under the Fan Portfolio, including the Trendy HS and NS Pedestan Fan, Premium Ceiling Fan, Antilia Neo Fan Ceiling Fan, Astura Ceiling Fan, Trinity IoT Ceiling Fan, Anti-Stan Exhaust Fan, Stealth Air BLDC Ceiling Fan, Enticer BLDC Ceiling Fan, Florence Under Light Ceiling Fan, Milor Ceiling Fan, XPJET 400 ceiling fan, Girik Wall fan and Efficiencia Prime, Pro and Neo Ceiling Fan Range.
In urban areas, commenting on the consumer demand, Negi stated that some initial hiccups were being faced by the company due to lockdowns and large urban centres especially the metro as well as Tier 1 cities bore the maximum impact of the lockdown. In all urban market, the demand has been stabilized with unlocking. Smaller towns, especially which is Tier 3 and below, were not obstructed significantly and there has been a steady growth in demand from rural areas and lower town classes.
Negi added that “For Havells, online segment is a growing segment and during the pandemic, there was major acceleration across all categories of product. Demand from e-commerce platforms has been witnessed and online stores of Havells, Shop. Offline demand was initially obstructed because of the lockdown but with gradual unlock, the demand has stabilized along with that it is showing growth in the offline channel too.”
With the organized fan market of India being pegged at around ₹8,000 crores, Havells is well known as being one of the leading names in this space and it claims to have close to 19-20 per cent of the market share. In the year 2003, the company came into the fans segment and it is currently present in the premium as well as super-premium categories, which offers over 250 SKU’s of fans. In Haridwar, Uttarakhand, the manufacturing plant of Havells for fans is a fully integrated state-of-the-art plant, which is completely equipped with an automated CNC machine for end covers that has a computerized conveyor assembly line along with testing facilities. Annually, the current production capacity of the plant is more than 10 million fans.
