By Sanjay Maurya
After the BCCI reveals that the IPL 2022 will comprise two new teams, the excitement for the IPL 2022 begins even before the IPL 2021 season ends. BCCI has already identified two new franchises: Lucknow and Ahmedabad, which will compete in the 2022 seasons. The IPL 2022 mega auction, which is set to take place next month in February, is the first stage of the tournament.
As a result, the auctions will include 10 franchises: Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad. For the auction, each team has a salary cap of INR 90 crore. So far, all old franchises have kept a total of 27 players in their squad. Out of these, each IPL team has 8 international players and 19 Indian players.
If we look at retention lists it will include 4 uncapped players. Old teams (Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals) were only permitted to retain four players on their squads. Out of these, there can be a maximum of three domestic players and two international players
According to the most recent reports, the IPL 2022 mega auction will be held on February 12 and 13, 2022. The mega auction will be held in Bengaluru. The IPL 2022 mega auction will run for two days, the same as the previous mega auction in 2018. The IPL 2022 mega auction was formerly scheduled for the first or second week of January but the date has been extended to February.

In IPL 2022, Lucknow is one of two new franchises. Rajiv Goenka’s RPSG Group owns the Lucknow franchise. For the Lucknow squad, the company spent INR 7090 crores in bidding. During the bidding process, this was the highest bid BCCI got. Lucknow is in negotiations with KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer for the captaincy, according to reports. In addition, during IPL 2022, the team may be known as the Lucknow Scorchers.
Ahmedabad Franchise
