An exemplary player who had a life that climbed the most dazzling heights but also delved the darkest depths. Diego Armando Maradona, Argentinian football legend has passed away at the age of 60 at his home in Tigre after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The man with a magical foot who was the most gifted footballer ever, Diego Armando Maradona became world-famous after leading Argentina to the 1986 World Cup.
Earlier in November, He underwent surgery for a brain clot, which was caused by an accident, his personal doctor, neurologist Leopoldo Luque said.
However, just over a week after completing the surgery, he was released from a Buenos Aires Hospital and was continuing his recovery in a private home that was near his older daughter. His last words before the death were ‘I feel sick’.
His life was marked by the most amazing heights where he was crowned for his performances as well as he had the darkest of times. He had a lot of flaws and faults but yet he was loved and worshipped by his fans. The dark hero who sparkled the brightest.
On the demise of the legend, the Argentinian president Alberto Fernandez has declared three days of mourning.
In order to honour Maradona, thousands of mourners have filled the streets of Buenos Aires and Naples in Italy.
Diego Armando Maradona will always continue to be in the hearts of millions, his legacy will never be forgotten. In the ages to come, there will be more legends but there will be only one Maradona who will always be the greatest of all.
