Lokendra Singh Kalvi, the founder of Shree Rajput Karni Sena, passed away at 68 on Monday (March 13) night at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur. He had been undergoing treatment for a long time after suffering a brain stroke. His last rites will be conducted in his native village in Nagaur on March 14 at 2:15 pm.

According to Dr Achal Sharma, the Superintendent at SMS Hospital, Kalvi had been undergoing treatment in the hospital since June 2022 after suffering from a brain stroke.
The Jaipur-based organisation, Shree Rajput Karni Sena, gained notoriety in 2018 when its members attacked director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the sets of his film, Padmavat. The group claimed that the movie portrayed Rani Padmini, played by Deepika Padukone, in a derogatory manner.
Lokendra Singh Kalvi, the son of former Rajasthan minister Kalyan Singh, joined the Congress party in 2008, hoping to receive a ticket to contest elections. However, he was not chosen as a candidate. In 2014, he contested the Lok Sabha polls from the Barmer-Jaisalmer seat on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket but lost the election.
