The entry of foldable phones into the markets in the Mobile World Congress 2019 is all set to change the future of mobile phones. The foldable phones come with a tablet-sized touch screen that can be folded into two or three halves. This innovative design provides user better usability and productivity. Here are some of the best ones announced so far:
Samsung Galaxy Fold has a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,536 x 2,152 pixels. This display folds in half and called as Infinity Flex Display. The folded display has a 4.58-inch screen on the surface, with a resolution of 840 X 1960 pixels. The software is OneUI based on Android 9.0 Pie with some tailored tweaks.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold has a total of six cameras: on the rear, a 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide camera, a 12MP wide-angle camera, and a 12MP telephoto sensor; on the inside is a 10MP (f/2.2) camera and an 8MP (f/1.9) RGB depth camera; upfront, you’ll get a 10MP (f/2.2) sensor.
The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC processor with 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage. The Galaxy Fold has two batteries with 2,190mAh capacity, 4,380mAh in total and they work together.
Huawei Mate X is a 5.4mm thin, 8-inch tablet with a resolution of 2480 X 2200 pixels, that folds into a 6.6-inch full-screen smartphone. The phone has a 40 MP wide-angle lens along with a 16 MP ultra-wide lens and an 8MP telephoto lens. The mobile phone has a 4500mAh battery which works with Huawei’s new Super Charge operating at 55 Watts. It has an 8 GB RAM, with Octa-core processor and HiSilicon Kirin 980 (7 nm) SoC.
Xiaomi Dual Flex or MIX Flex is the first phone in the world to have a double folding feature. The smart phone can be used in three forms: double folded, single folded, and tablet form. While the President of Xiaomi has released a teaser for the device, the specifications of the phone and the release date are yet to be officially confirmed.
