Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal presided over a high-level meeting on Thursday. The meeting took place for the implementation of National Education Policy 2020 and on the meeting, an implementation plan for school education called ‘Students’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement through Quality Education called ‘SARTHAQ’.
According to the Department of School Education and Literacy, SARTHAQ is an indicative and suggestive implementation plan for school education that was released as part of the celebrations leading up to the Amrit Mahotsav on the 75th independence anniversary of India.
“The plan recognizes the concurrent existence of education while staying true to the federalist spirit,” the statement said. States and UTs have the flexibility to adapt this plan to their specific needs and specifications, as well as change it as required.”
It further stated that the implementation plan also defines the roadmap and path forward for the implementation of NEP 2020. SARTHAQ received approximately 7,177 suggestions/inputs from all stakeholders.
The statement added, ‘Shikshak Parv’ which is a fest of teachers’ was specifically organized from 8th September to 25 last year for exploring multiple recommendations of NEP 2020 along with its implementation strategies, which drew about 15 lakh suggestions.
SARTHAQ’s main goal, according to the report, is to identify activities in such a way that they relate recommendations to 297 Tasks, as well as responsible agencies, timelines, and 304 Task outputs.
“It was also attempted to propose practices in such a way that they will be building on existing structures rather than creating new ones,” according to the statement. As a result, SARTHAQ takes care of the policy’s spirit and purpose, and it is intended to be enforced in stages.”
