Twitter Team-up with Billboard to Make ‘Hot Trending’ Music Chart
Billboard and Twitter have teamed up to develop The Billboard Hot Trending music chart, a real-time Billboard Chart driven by Twitter that will highlight the most popular songs on the website while also monitoring music trends.
The list, which will be updated every 24 hours, will monitor the most popular music topics on Twitter at any given time, according to the company’s Digital Content NewFronts presentation on 5th May.
Advertisers will be able to communicate with The Billboard Hot Trending through “innovative ad formats that will live on Twitter and across Billboard,” As per the company statement, which will be backed up with video content, organic support, and editorial attention from top talent.
The company has also partnered with Genius for the show Verified, in which musicians break down their songs line by line.
Every day, Billboard will update the chart, as well as write articles and film videos about the data for publication on its website and Twitter.
The Chart is both a cool new platform for fans and a way for both businesses to make money. The most famous segment of Billboard’s website is Charts, which often causes the most social media activity. It’s a reason for industry insiders to pay for a subscription, as well as for the average fan to visit Billboard and help the company grow its advertisement revenue.
Charts generate their news; Justin Bieber has risen to the top of the charts, and Billboard intends to produce videos examining the trends.
Bloomberg’s Pop Star Power Rankings, a weekly list that charts the world’s top pop stars based on metrics like Spotify streams and Instagram interactions, is published every month. Bloomberg receives the weekly Billboard 200 chart from Billboard/MRC Data.
In an interview, Billboard President Julian Holguin said, “Advertisers should sync with the hottest trends in music and the most buzz-worthy subjects.” “Moving at the pace of society is difficult, but this graphic will assist advertisers in doing so.”
