To mark this occasion prestigious, Google Maps is getting an all-new brand icon and a bunch of new features on the bases of feedbacks from its existing customers.
The most significant change is the new Google Maps icon is its all-new design. It is totally based on the “pin”, that has been a key part of Google Maps for a very long time. When you use navigation with Google Maps this week, you may even see a celebratory party-themed car icon on this.
Starting from today, all the users will get to use a new Google Maps app for Android and iOS that provide you everything you need, all easily accessible.
New tabs on Google Maps
Explore: The Explore tab on Google Maps will help you to find information, ratings, reviews and a lot more, for over 200 million places around the globe, like various restaurants, attractions, and major landmarks.
Commute: The Commute tab in the app is where you can plan your daily journeys most efficiently by making sure you’re on the best route. Whether you’re using a car or public transport you can get the perfect route map.
Saved: The Saved tab on Google Maps lets you find all the desired places people have saved on their Google Maps, around 6.5 billion of them.
Contribute: The new Contribution tab will let you join the hundreds of millions of users who contribute the accurate information that helps keep Google Maps up to date, especially with local area knowledge including details about roads and proper addresses, missing places on the map, or some business reviews.
Updates: The new Updates tab by Google Maps gives you a proper feed of trending spots that match your taste and local experts or publishers suggest you should visit. Moreover, you can also chat directly with businesses through the app, as well as discover the places, save them and share your recommendations.
