Dr. Abhishek is a PGDM from Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies with experience in Banking and Finance domain. He is an International TTT certified trainer; and also certified Vocational Assessor Qualification awarded by Ed-Excel (U.K.). He did his Doctorate in Management Studies from Indore and conducted various open workshops & seminars at National and International level. He has delivered over 5000 man hours of training and trained over 10,000 personnel of around 136 companies of India and 4 companies abroad. He is now pursuing his 2nd PhD. Dr. Abhishek is an author of the book ‘The Untold Secrets of Sales’ and an International Category Trainer (Have trained in 4 countries out of India).

In a conversation with Business Connect, he shares that training and development is not the field for Start up’s and if a venture decides to make its way in should remember the protocols of the field and should by abide by them, he also enlightens us about the scenario presently for him and more,

Business Connect: Did everything come easy, or you have your story of struggle?

Dr. Abhishek: No. I gave up my job to start my own venture. Although, the call was quite risky, somehow, I was instilled with that confidence that I will sail through. Yes, the path was full of thorns and setbacks, somehow the tougher kept on moving. Guess what, the company which was started with a capital of Rs. 10,000/- from the front room of my flat, has now worth in double Lakhs and has got 3 offices in different cities of India. Started with one & only person, I have a team of 10 professionals now.

Business Connect: What kind of clients do you serve any special mentions?

Dr. Abhishek: We are not limited to any specific segment(s) of clients. We have a portfolio of 196 companies coming from 23 different sectors of India like Automobiles, Chemical & Agriculture, Manufacturing, Education Services, Aviation, Software, telecom, Power, Oil & Gas, Mining & ports, etc.

Business Connect: How do you ensure unbreakable faith of clients in your company?

Dr. Abhishek: In two ways, we suggest to hold back the payments if any of the case studies used by us in your training programs are found on Google or for any of our program or any of our trainer if the feedback rating is below 4.2 out of 5.

Business Connect: How do you keep pace with the changing market trends?

Dr. Abhishek: Our team always keeps an eye on the changing dynamics in the market, and we are quite flexible to adopt any methodology or practice which can help us elevate further. We have a strong network across the corporate world and we ourselves keep on adding value in terms of adding Qualifications and developing those Skills in ourselves first.

Business Connect: Do you still come back to work with the same zeal, like you did when you started?

Dr. Abhishek: I think it has doubled. Following are 2 common feedbacks about 95% of my programs:

  • It is wonderful to see that your energy even at 5:00 PM has not gone down even by 1% comparing the energy it was at 9:00 AM when the program started
  • We / I have attended many training programs in life. Probably this is the 1st program where we/I did not feel sleepy after Lunch even for once.

Business Connect: In terms of your market, what do you feel the future holds for entrepreneurs?

Dr. Abhishek: Indian market is growing leap and bounds. Awareness and need for Soft Skills programs are growing up even amongst small scale companies. So, the future is bright, provided this business is retained & continued in its original form and malpractices to be kept away from it

Business Connect: Who is your role model in the business/entrepreneurial world and what have you learned from the person?

Dr. Abhishek: I Learnt from Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Azad “Life will not give a second chance, so better do it right first time only” FTR (First Time Right) should be your practice and part of your values and culture.

Business Connect: How are you giving back to society (CSR, if any)?

Dr. Abhishek: By conducting training programs on Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (POSH). We have been empaneled by the Central Ministry of Women & Child Development led by Mrs. Maneka Gandhi, to conduct training/workshops on POSH on behalf of the ministry. We are also associated with 1 old age home and 1 Orphanage (meant for differently abled kids) and ensure their basic needs and we even conduct fun activities for them to rejuvenate them.

Business Connect: Apart from work, what else do you like to spend your time doing?

Dr. Abhishek: I love to travel and spend time with my wife on instantaneous outings around India. We both never go by planned vacations. Also, I have written a book on Sales – ‘The Untold Secrets of Sales’. Now I am writing another book. So, I love to spend some time on that too.

Business Connect: What are the achievements and milestones of the company?

Dr. Abhishek: We were selected by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to conduct training programs on POSH, empaneled by MPCON to conduct training programs on their behalf for various MP State Govt. Organizations/departments and awarded by Dr. Shashi Tharoor in 2012 (then HRD Minister of India) – Best Training Company in Gurgaon.

Pinnacle Training & Development Solutions has grown at a rapid pace. In the last 5 years, every single year they have registered a high turnover. Their annual marketing cost is almost ‘Nil’, given the amount of Word of Mouth publicity they get.
