Ray-Ban Meta Glasses Launch: Smart Eyewear Gets a Display Upgrade

He described the technique as a “huge scientific breakthrough” in front of hundreds of people at the company’s campus in Silicon Valley. With the Meta Ray-Ban Display, users may make video calls and see messages on a full-color, high-resolution screen in one lens. It has a 12-megapixel camera as well.
In order to incorporate its artificial intelligence tool, Meta AI, into people’s life, Mr. Zuckerberg expects that Meta’s range of smart accessories will serve as a crucial platform. “Unlike VR headsets, glasses are an everyday, non-cumbersome form factor,” Mike Proulx, VP and Research Director at Forrester, stated.
However, he stated, “the onus is on Meta to convince the vast majority of people who don’t own AI glasses that the benefits outweigh the cost.”Although the firm stated that it does not provide sales data, it is believed that since its launch in 2023, it has sold about two million pairs of smart glasses.

“The Ray-Bans have done well because they’re easy to use, inconspicuous and relatively affordable,” said Gebbie. Mr. Zuckerberg also presented the second generation of Ray-Ban Meta spectacles, which cost $379, and the $499 Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses, which are targeted at sports fans.
