The Devil: While the actor is still continues to serve time in a Karnataka jail in connection with a murder case, fans of Darshan celebrate the film’s release.
The Devil’s release became a huge celebration throughout Karnataka, despite Darshan Thoogudeepa being imprisoned in Ballari Central Prison. His supporters filled theaters with song, whistles, and wild enthusiasm on the movie’s premiere day, treating it like a festival. This display of devotion has only grown since his arrest.
Fans were observed singing along to Darshan’s movie songs, dancing in the aisles, and waving flags inside theaters. Videos from Bengaluru that went popular on social media showed crowded halls bursting during the opening songs. Towering cutouts of the actor were erected outside movie theaters, and crowds of admirers showed their support by purchasing large quantities of tickets and bursting crackers.
Prior to the movie’s premiere, Darshan’s wife Vijayalakshmi shared a message from prison on Instagram. “This message comes straight from my heart, carried to you all by Viji,” he wrote in his note. She has kept me informed on every single one of you, including your love, care, unwavering support, and unstoppable promotions throughout the state. I sense your presence with me at all times, even when we are far away.
The actor also advised viewers to avoid being sidetracked by rumors and to keep their attention on the movie. “Please don’t be concerned about what other people say. Keep your heart from being shaken by noise, rumors, or criticism. You are my family, my strength, and the only reason I am standing today more than ever is because of your faith in me. You are my greatest power. He added, “All I want is for you to stop worrying and focus that love and energy on what really matters—our movie, Devil (sic).”
Darshan is still being held in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy. He and Pavithra Gowda were detained earlier this year on suspicion of abducting and killing Renukaswamy, a fan who had allegedly sent abusive texts to Pavithra.
Rachana Rai, Tulasi, Achyuth Kumar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Shobhraj, and Gilli Nata are among the cast members of Prakash Veer’s film The Devil.
