From Jewels to Gigawatts: GIVA’s $100M Vote of Confidence and India’s Rs 3 Lakh Crore Digital Bet
Two big business stories from early November 2026, side by side
Capital in India is flowing in two very different directions right now: into a D2C fine jewellery brand, and into power-hungry data centres. Both point to the same conclusion, which is that investors are placing long-term bets on India’s consumers and its digital economy.
GIVA lands $100M+ in a Multiples-led round
Indian fine jewellery retailer GIVA has raised over $100 million in a funding round led by Multiples Alternate Asset Management. The company was founded in 2019 and had already raised $28 million through a multi-tranche debt round in May this year, meant to support growth, expansion and operations.
The company has been raising capital at a steady clip. In June 2025, it secured Rs 530 crore (roughly $61.5 million) in a Series C round led by Creaegis. In about a year, GIVA has pulled in significant funding through both equity and debt.
How the new money will be deployed, whether on retail expansion, lab-grown diamonds or something else, isn’t clear from the announcement itself, so it’s best treated as unconfirmed until the company discloses more.
India’s data centre buildout: the Rs 3 lakh crore story
On the infrastructure side, a Crisil report projects India’s installed data centre capacity will grow five-fold to about 7.5 GW by March 2030, drawing more than Rs 3 lakh crore in investment over four fiscal years.
That figure sits alongside several large commitments announced this year:
- Prime Minister Modi announced that AirTrunk plans to invest around Rs 3 lakh crore in India and develop 5 GW of data centre capacity.
- Amazon Web Services has committed Rs 70,000 crore in Maharashtra, Google has announced roughly Rs 50,000 crore for a 1 GW facility in Vizag, and Reliance has spoken of Rs 98,000 crore in data centre investments.
The common thread
A jewellery brand and a data centre may seem unrelated, but both ride on the same trend: rising Indian consumption and rising digital usage. As online and omnichannel retail grows, so does the demand for cloud and data infrastructure.
What to watch next
- Official details on GIVA’s valuation and how it plans to use the funds.
- Power and land availability for data centre projects, since GW-scale targets depend on reliable supply.
- How quickly announcements convert into operational capacity.
Note: GIVA’s round details come from a single report, so valuation and other specifics have been left out.
