Theon Group buys Maneesh Pharma’s Unit VI in Baddi, renames it Zoevita Lifesciences
Theon Group has bought Maneesh Pharma’s Unit VI in Baddi through a slump sale, and the plant will operate as Zoevita Lifesciences Ltd. The group calls the purchase another step in its expansion. It says the plant supports its manufacturing requirements and creates openings to serve customers in India and overseas.
Theon Group is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company with four companies under it. The figures below show what each one contributes.
3,000 million: Zoevita’s yearly tablet capacity
Zoevita makes tablets, capsules and sachets for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical use. Tablets lead by a wide margin. The plant is rated at 3,000 million tablets a year, 150 million capsules and 30 million sachets.
Theon Pharmaceuticals lists 1,500 million tablets from its general block and 750 million each from its penicillin and cephalosporin blocks. Brands comparing options for pharma contract manufacturing can set those figures next to Zoevita’s.
Oral liquid sections are in progress at Zoevita. Theon says they will broaden production and help the plant reach more pharmaceutical and nutraceutical demand in India and abroad.
6: markets where Zoevita reports approvals
Zoevita holds WHO-GMP certification. It reports approvals or market authorisations from Ethiopia (EFDA), Tanzania (TMDA), Uganda (NDA), Uzbekistan, Myanmar and Yemen.
The company also refers to USFDA and EU compliance expectations in how it operates, and the plant is built to support efficient production and consistent quality as customer requirements rise.
4: companies in the group
Zoevita joins three existing companies. Theon Pharmaceuticals Ltd. makes finished dosage forms. Theon Lifesciences Ltd. runs a sterile plant in Punjab. Theogen Pvt. Ltd. is the marketing arm, selling generic medicines to widen the group’s reach in domestic markets.
Baddi is one of India’s prominent pharmaceutical manufacturing hubs, and Theon expects Zoevita to contribute to its expansion plans from there.
45+: countries Theon Pharmaceuticals exports to
Theon Pharmaceuticals holds PIC/S, WHO-GMP and ISO 9001:2015 certifications. Its range covers tablets, capsules, oral suspensions, dry powder injections, ointments, creams and sachets.
The company says it ships to more than 45 countries across Africa, Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. Examples include Kenya, Ghana, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Iraq and Bolivia.
Its cephalosporin block also makes dry powder injections, with capacity of 60 million a year.
120 million: sterile vials and ampoules at Derabassi
Theon Lifesciences runs a recently built sterile plant at Derabassi, Mohali, Punjab. The design references USFDA guidelines and EU-GMP standards, and covers EU Annex 1 and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
Yearly capacity is 120 million liquid injection vials and 120 million glass ampoules. The plant also makes 30 million lyophilised vials, 30 million prefilled syringes and 30 million bottles of eye and ear drops.
2026: the year of audits
Commercial production at Derabassi has started. The plant received WHO-GMP certification in May 2026, and its PIC/S audit from Ukraine was approved in September 2026.
For SRA-regulated markets, the company has named EU-GMP, ANVISA and EAEU audits as targets for 2026. Several sterile injectable products are already on sale in India, and more are in development.
