All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s Institute of Information Technology, Pune, established in August 1999. The college has worked as a free, self-financing college and is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). Located at the heart of Pune city about1 km from Pune and Shivaji Nagar Railway Stations, it is approved by AICTE and Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State. The institute enhances the teaching-learning experience by providing students greater resources, contact with industries and academia, employment opportunities and internships.
The institute under the reign of Pradeep B. Mane has received accreditation from National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering. The institute has also received Permanent affiliation from SPPU for Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering.

Pradeep B. Mane, Principal, AISSMS Institute of Information Technology is Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering & Technology, Bharati Vidyapeeth University. He has worked as organizing chair Wiecon -ECE 2016 IEEE International WIE Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering from 19-21 December 2016 in AISSMS Institute of Information Technology, Pune, and Maharashtra, India, Felicitated by Janseva Sahyog Community Center (MAH/2299/85, Trust F-3586) for contribution in teaching on 5th Sep 2013, etc.
In his period of service, he has achieved several milestones like the proposal submitted and presented received grant worth Rs. 45.5 lakhs from UGC under their innovative program scheme to start the Bio-Medical Engineering course in the department of Electronics BVUCOE, Pune, Bibliographical profile selected for inclusion in the forthcoming 2010 Edition of Marquis Who’s Who in the World, Project guided received the Second price organized by IETE, Pune center in year 2012 and more.
Pradeep B. Mane, in a conversation with Business Connect Magazine to enlighten the readers about the educational scenario, opportunities, future plans, ethos and more.
Business Connect: Brief our readers with an overview of your sector of Information Technology
Pradeep: The education sector is the prime sector in the development of any nation. The ever increasing and ahead of time sector is the IT sector, so those who want to think ahead of time and understand the need for future market and growth, the IT is the absolute solution.
Business Connect: Being the Institute of Information Technology, what inspiration drew you to a path of this nature?
Pradeep: We believe in imparting skills and knowledge to the students, we thrust on the creative minds and innovative brains. For this type of stakeholders, it is our duty to give a multidisciplinary environment where the students can acquire knowledge, skills to give their best to society rather than a graduation certificate only.
Business Connect: Do you believe your challenges were any different from the rest?
Pradeep: Yes, indeed our challenges are different as our vision quotes –uplift the common masses by rendering value added education. To empower society through dynamic education is our mission. So considering the depth of the above statements we work for masses to make them best technocrats.
Business Connect: You have been in the market for a long time now, what kind of strategies did you deploy to overcome your challenges?
Pradeep: Any challenge can be faced by manifesting the proper vision and adaptability. As the demand or need for future changes, we have to change. The education system nowadays is not limited to the conventional textbook type system but it demands innovation in teaching learning and we did the same thing. The institute adopted and committed ourselves to impart best and innovative practices in teaching learning.
Business Connect: What all facilities are made available for the students?
Pradeep: In AISSMS IOIT for holistic development of students many facilities are available such as well-equipped laboratories, Central library with huge collection of national international publication’s books ,journals, periodicals, We have dedicated Research and development lab along with incubation center, Peer study groups, study circles, sports, NSS, Training and placement, Internship activities, We have a Hostel, College bus & canteen facilities , College has special platforms for handicap students.
Business Connect: The trends keep changing in the market, how do you keep up?
Pradeep: Institute has a specially designed program called I-connect program where the faculty members visit the industries, understand the need of ever growing market and changing trends. We have MoUs with industries so that the industry experts can visit the college and share their practical views, demands with faculty members and students. Third-year Students are mandatorily attending the industry internship. So these are some of the key areas by which we are keeping eye on changing trends.
Business Connect: Is academics the only area that is polished or there are other activities conducted as well?
Pradeep: The institute believes in holistic development so along with the good academics we work on the Soft skills of the students. We have department specific students association where students are arranging different activities which brush-up their various key areas such as human resource management, finance handling, marketing, etc. Our national level annual festival which completely managed by the students is indeed a different learning experience. Our college annual magazine is the place for writers, artist & thinkers to express their talent. Along with this, we have a Film club, Tesla Club, SWO activities, entrepreneurship activities, Industrial visits, Workshops.
Business Connect: How do you feel is the scenario of the education sector in India?
Pradeep: As we all know India has one of the largest networks of higher education and most of the population of India is learning population (age-5 to 24). So the scope for education sector development is vast. Nowadays scope of Indian education is shifting towards new learning methodologies such as E-learning, Distance learning, Machine learning, Experience-based education, so there is tremendous scope for innovation in the Indian education sector.
Business Connect: How do you ensure the faith of your students in you and is education still considered a luxury?
Pradeep: The institute imparting them with quality education, enhancing their employability skills, entrepreneurship skills and many more. Yes, in spite of second largest population in the world, India is far behind than most of the countries, Still the education is not the priority in many parts of the country, still, education is gender specific in some areas which we have to change.
Business Connect: How much do you feel is R&D necessary for growth in your vertical?
Pradeep: R&D is the backbone for the development of any sector. Providing new solutions and options is the demand of today’s world. The institute has created an ecosystem to motivate young talent to think critically & out of the box.
Business Connect: What other milestones have you achieved as yet?
Pradeep: Colleges Accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade Along with “Fire and Security Association of India- Best College Award, Pune City”, “Best private Engineering College Principal Award” “Best Private Engineering College award. Our college is listed in the AICTE list of colleges which are following best practices.
Business Connect: The education sector is a competitive market, do you believe competition is necessary and how much?
Pradeep: The education sector has also undergone various reformation leading to large competition, when the competition is healthy then it definitely proves fruitful. Competition in terms of innovation, best practices will certainly uplift the education sector but it should be in the limit of morals and values.
In August 2018 government launched innovation cell, Atal Ranking of Institutes on Innovation achievements (ARIIA), second phase of UNNAT BARAT ABHIYAAN which aimed to link higher education institutes in the country to at least five villages, Digital India, Make in India, PRADHAN MANTRI KAUSHALY VIKAS YOJNA (PMKVY), these are the kind of initiatives AISSMS feels are certainly needful, the change is required only at the point of speedy execution of all schemes.
At AISSMS, they provide to the students a strong foundation of holistic development and dynamic education which gives lifelong learning vision. They at all times encourage ethical practices, lifelong learning skills, and knowledge hunger. Their NSS team organizes social camps, social awareness campaigns, and programs. We give our small bit by raising funds, donation for national calamities.
