Border 2, a war drama starring Sunny Deol, is expected to get a huge opening weekend at the box office. The movie’s advance booking started on Monday, and in just one day, it has surpassed Sunny’s last major release, Jaat.
Additionally, the film will also surpass both the pan-Indian action film War 2 and the recent smash Dhurandhar.
According to a trade website, Border 2 has collected over Rs 2.5 crore in its advance booking by Tuesday, just over 24 hours after it started.
The movie has already sold 73K tickets at 11,000 performances nationwide. The pace will only increase as additional theatres open for the movie. The movie is selling 2K tickets every hour on BookMyShow as of Tuesday morning, and the rate is rising hourly.
With three days till its release, Border 2’s day one advance booking gross has already surpassed that of Sunny Deol’s Jaat, which opened at Rs 9 crore net and received Rs 2.4 crore in advance bookings.
Sunny’s final major hit, Gadar 2, had made about Rs 2.2 crore on its first day, while Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar had only made Rs 1 crore. This indicates that Border 2 is surpassing both movies. Gadar 2 made Rs 40 crore on its opening day, compared to Rs 28 crore for Dhurandhar.
