Day 4 Box Office Collection for Border 2 Worldwide Live updates: Sunny Deol’s war drama has already made Rs 180 crore in India in just four days after its premiere, and it has quickly risen to the Rs 200 crore club worldwide.
Day 4 Box Office Collection Update for Border 2: Sunny Deol’s most recent military drama Since its January 23 debut, Border 2 has been unstoppable, and its powerful momentum has continued over the long weekend. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Border 2 made Rs 59 crore on its debut Monday, which was also a national holiday due to Republic Day. Early estimates put the entire amount received domestically at Rs 180 crore and globally at Rs 239 crore.
In Hindi, the movie’s theater occupancy on Day 4 was 64.27%. It was 40.39% in the morning, 79.75% in the afternoon, 79.90% in the evening, and 57.05% at night.
Following an incredible Rs 30 crore opening at the Indian box office, Border 2 made Rs 36.5 crore on Saturday and Rs 54.5 crore on Sunday thanks to the prolonged Republic Day weekend and excellent word of mouth. The film made more than Rs 59 crore on Monday.
In the meantime, Bhushan Kumar, the film’s producer, recently announced that Border 3 will be the third installment. “We are doing a joint venture (a different film) with his (Anurag Singh) company and my company,” Bhushan stated in an interview with Hindustan Times. It will be something fresh, and he will be the director. In due course, Border 3 will occur.
In addition to Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana are also featured in Border 2. The war drama, directed by Anurag Singh, is a follow-up to J.P. Dutta’s classic 1997 hit film Border. Nidhi Dutta, Dutta’s daughter, and Bhushan Kumar are the film’s producers.
Actor Ishika Gagneja’s dream came true after she played Diljit Dosanjh’s sister in Border 2. She recently shared a video reflecting on her journey from being a fan attending Diljit’s concerts to sharing screen space with him in the film. “@diljitdosanjh veerji, working with you was truly a dream come true Kindness and humility like yours are incredibly rare to find. ਰੱਬ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੇ I attended your concert in 2024 and manifested working with you while standing in that crowd. A year later, I shot for Border 2 with you… and in 2026, I get to see myself playing your sister,” she wrote.
Border 2 has recorded the biggest Republic Day box office collection. According to the makers, the film earned Rs 63.59 crore on Republic Day, taking its four-day total to Rs 193.48 crore. This makes the Sunny Deol starrer the highest-grossing film on Republic Day, surpassing previous releases such as Sky Force (2025), Fighter (2024), and Pathaan (2023).
Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram stories and lauded Varun Dhawan’s performance in Border 2. She wrote, “I am so proud of you @varundvn. You killed it. Goosebumps and the whole team!!! What an experience.”
The T-Series chairperson and Border 2 producer, Bhushan Kumar, has responded to claims that Akshaye Khanna’s cameo was added after the craze around the actor surged following Dhurandhar’s success. Bhushan refuted these claims, clarifying that the cameo was planned well before Dhurandhar’s release. In an interview with News18, he said, “You can’t make a film like that. It was already scripted. In fact, we shot his portion after Dhurandhar was released. The hysteria of the film and Akshaye was already there but we never thought of [profiting from] it. It was never required in the script. It’s not like we added him after Dhurandhar was released.”
“The same can be said for Suniel Shetty. It’s not like we decided to bring them in and seeded them in the script later. They were always supposed to be a part of Border 2 as cameo appearances. I would like to urge everyone to not miss the end credits of the film. That scene featuring the cameos is very emotional,” Bhushan added.
Sophie Choudry took to Instagram to laud Varun Dhawan for his performance in Border 2. She wrote, “@varundvn Your brilliant performance is the loudest reply. Proud of you @varundvn .. The most sincere, hardworking, genuine human. You deserve all the love coming your way.”
Viral videos show a group of fans pouring milk on Varun Dhawan’s poster following Border 2’s box office success. This comes after the actor faced trolling for having a “crooked smile” in the film’s teaser and trailer. While many praised the fans’ gesture, others dismissed it as a PR stunt. One user wrote, “This is a PR move, I guess.” Another commented, “Varun has taken the trolling he received to his ego, and this is nothing but a PR stunt. Even during his prime, he didn’t get this treatment.” Varun’s last two films — Baby John and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari — failed to perform well at the box office, making the success of Border 2 a sweet win for the actor.
Border 2 director Anurag Singh spoke about the difficulties of shooting the film on real locations with a massive crew. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, he said, “The scale is so big. There are about 300 to 400 crew members on set at any given time. We were shooting on real locations, not green screens. We filmed in Dehradun and Jhansi, dealing with extreme cold in some schedules and harsh summer heat in others.”
He added, “The blasts have to go off at the exact time, actors need to be positioned at specific distances when flames erupt, and there are nearly 500 people fighting in the background. This isn’t a one-on-one fight; it’s a battlefield. Coordinating action on that scale is incredibly difficult.” “To get thrill, emotion, and action together in a single shot, with all the technicalities, was the trickiest part,” he shared.
With Sunny Deol’s film earning Rs 180 crore in domestic collections and Rs 250 crore worldwide, Border 2 has emerged as the top performer among recent Republic Day releases. The film has also surpassed the lifetime collection of Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, which stood at Rs 150 crore. Sky Force had released on January 24, 2025. Another Republic Day release, Fighter, which hit theatres on January 24, 2024, had earned Rs 29 crore on its fourth day of release—significantly lower than what Border 2 collected on the same day at Rs 59 crore. At this pace, Border 2 is expected to soon surpass Fighter’s net domestic lifetime collection of Rs 212.79 crore.
Border 2 is being compared to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which released in December last year and went on to have a long-lasting impact on the audience, enjoying a successful theatrical run for days after its release. However, the film’s fourth-day box office collection is nowhere close to what Border 2 has earned on Day 4. Sunny Deol’s film minted Rs 59 crore on its fourth day, while Dhurandhar had collected Rs 23.25 crore on the same day.
Sunny Deol’s Border 2 did not witness the usual weekday drop on Monday, aided by the Republic Day holiday, as the film recorded an 8 per cent increase in collections and minted Rs 59 crore. This achievement makes Border 2 the third film to register the highest fourth-day collections in the history of Hindi cinema. Only Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 (Rs 85 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 71.63 crore) have earned more than Border 2 on the fourth day of their release.
The film has, however, outperformed several major blockbusters in this category, including Stree 2 (Rs 55.9 crore), Pathaan (Rs 51.5 crore), KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 50.35 crore), Baahubali 2 (Rs 40.25 crore), Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (Rs 40.06 crore), and Kalki 2898 AD (Rs 40 crore). Border 2 has also surpassed Sunny Deol’s previous release Gadar 2, which had collected Rs 38.7 crore on its fourth day at the box office.
If Border 2 maintains its pace at the box office, it is expected to enter the hallowed Rs 300 cr club worldwide today. However, after an extended weekend, the film will see a drop on the account of work week starting on Tuesday.
As per HT, the worldwide earnings of Border 2 are around $4.3 million and the film is doing very well in Canada. This puts the worldwide gross of Border 2 over the Rs 250 crore mark.
Border 2 has outdone Dhurandhar as well. The Ranveer Singh-starrer’s first weekend earning was Rs 106.50 crore but Border 2 stands heads and shoulders above it with Rs 180 crore earning in India within the first four days.
2025 belonged to two Hindi superhits — Chhaava and Dhurandhar. The year 2026, however, has started even bigger for the Hindi film industry. While Chhaava first weekend stood at Rs 121.43 crores, Border 2 has posted Rs 180 crore in its 4-day weekend.
Border 2 has stormed into the Rs 200 crore club globally within 4 days of release. The film has earned Rs 239 crore gross worldwide and is expected to end its first week at around Rs 450 crore if it manages to hold on to the positive numbers during the week.
Within four days of its release, Border 2 has already earned a massive Rs 180 crore in India domestic net. Here are Border 2’s day-wise earning…
Day 1: Rs 30 crore
Day 2: Rs 36.5 crore
Day 3: Rs 54.5 crore
Day 4: Rs 53 crore
Border 2 has emerged as the second highest earner on Republic Day after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. The Sunny Deol-starrer earned Rs 59 crore, as per early estimates by Sacnilk, taking its total domestic net collection to Rs 180 crore. Here are the top five R-Day earners:
Pathaan: Rs 70.5 crores
Border 2: Rs 59 crores (early estimates)
Fighter: Rs 41.2 crores
Padmaavat: Rs 32 crores
Sky Force: Rs 31.6 crores
Border 2 has made a new record with Rs 59 crore coming off its day 4, which was Republic Day. With this, the Sunny Deol-starrer has earned its highest ever collection in one day.
