Numerous locations in Delhi experienced pollution levels reaching the ‘severe’ category, with the Narela monitoring station noting an AQI of 418, The air quality in Delhi remains consistently poor, as evidenced by the fact that on Monday morning, the air quality index (AQI) for the national capital was still within the ‘very poor’ category.
Data from the Sameer app indicates that Delhi’s average AQI at 7:05 AM was 366. Numerous locations throughout the city experienced pollution levels classified as ‘severe’, with the Narela monitoring station noting an AQI of 418, which was the highest recorded on Monday up to that point.
Areas including Anand Vihar, Bawana, Jahangirpuri, Mundka, Rohini, and Wazirpur also experienced ‘severe’ AQI levels, with figures between 401 and 408.
The area of Dilshad Garden in the capital city logged an AQI of 301, making it the lowest among the 40 monitoring stations. It remained categorized as ‘very poor’.
According to the classification by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), an AQI of 0 to 50 is deemed ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
Advisory for the airport in Delhi
As visibility continued to be poor, posing a risk of further flight operation disturbances, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport released a passenger advisory. HT has learned that more than 150 flights at the airport have experienced delays on Monday so far.
“Due to low visibility, procedures are underway at Delhi airport. The 7 AM advisory on X stated, “All flight operations continue as normal,” and included a request for passengers to reach out to their respective airlines for updated flight information.

Nearly 100 flights were cancelled and over 200 were delayed on Sunday due to low visibility at the IGI airport.
Delhi meteorological outlook
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted moderate fog for Monday, with maximum temperatures expected to be around 21 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures around 9 degrees Celsius.
On Sunday, the minimum temperature was 9.4°C (1.3°C higher than the seasonal average), and the maximum temperature reached 18.1°C.
