Delhi Technological University Sets Global Agenda with Courses & Exchange Programmes
The goal of Delhi Technological University (DTU) is to become a leader in inclusive education and innovation. Vice-Chancellor Prateek On Wednesday Sharma had up a comprehensive plan that involves establishing international collaborations, implementing cutting-edge academic programs, and building a state-of-the-art Research Park at the Narela campus.
During a media event, Sharma explained that these initiatives are a part of a larger goal to provide educational access to underprivileged areas and give kids skills that are focused on the future. DTU has reached agreements with the University of Houston to foster student exchanges and with the South Asian University to expand regional academic collaboration in an effort to fortify its ties with other countries.
Innovative efforts
DTU is launching three new B.Tech specialties in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and data analytics—fields that are rapidly influencing the technical landscape—in line with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
To develop ability at the nexus of data and mapping technologies, a specialized interdisciplinary Department of Geospatial Science and Technology has also been formed.
Sharma said, “The NEP encourages us to design curricula that cater to individual interests and aptitudes.” “To make sure our students graduate with skills applicable to today’s job market, we are also forming strong partnerships with industry leaders.”
The institution has outfitted a state-of-the-art laboratory to facilitate research and development and will act as a venue for collaborative initiatives with industrial partners.
Increasing accessibility
DTU is expanding its online education programs dramatically in an effort to make learning more inclusive. A larger audience may now access both short-term and long-term certificate courses through its digital platform.
“Those who pass entrance exams shouldn’t be the only ones who have access to education,” Sharma stated. “We want to remove obstacles and ensure that everyone has access to high-quality education.”
DTU is actively involved in environmental activities in Delhi in addition to its academic pursuits. Together with the New Delhi Municipal Council, the Environmental Sciences department is working on initiatives to enhance flood control and revitalize the Yamuna River.
The organization has also suggested collaborating on pollution mitigation plans with the office of the lieutenant governor. Through a partnership with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, DTU will set up a dedicated facility to assess long road tunnel safety and make sure the infrastructure is safe and robust.
Additionally, DTU provided information on its upcoming 2025–2026 admissions cycle, startup incubation plans, and initiatives to integrate interdisciplinary learning into its curriculum, solidifying its standing as a progressive university in line with national goals. (With assistance from PTI)
