The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday, March 16, 2024 taking on X announced the schedule for the coming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The commencement of Lok Sabha elections 2024 will be held in a phase wise manner. With the first phase starting from May 19 and will extend to phase 7 which will be conducted on June 1, 2024.

And the result of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will be concluded on June 4, 2024.

Phase 1 will be conducted in  21 UT’s/States on May 19, 2024.

Phase 2 will be conducted in 13 UT’s/States on April 26, 2024.

Phase 3 will be conducted in 12 UT’s/States on May 07, 2024.

Phase 4 will be held in 10 UT’s/States on May 13, 2024.

Phase 5 will be held in 8 UT’s/States on May 20, 2024.

Phase 6 will be conducted in 7 UT’s/States on May 25, 2024.

Phase 7 will be conducted in 8 UT’s/States on June 1, 2024.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar along with the newly  appointed Election Commissioners (EC’s) Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu addressed the press conference on Lok Sabha Elections 2024 organised at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. To announce the date of General elections 2024.

In his speech CEC mentioned how the ECI has conducted over 400 assembly elections so far and a total of 17 General elections so far. For the smooth conduction of elections more than 55 lakh EVM machines have been installed in the pollings booths across India.

Ans- As per the data from ECI, approximately 96.88 crore Indians have registered themselves to vote in 2024 general elections. Including 49.7 crore male voters and 47.1 crore female voters with 1.8 crore first time voters.
