The American Interior Designer, Albert Hadley has well-quoted, “The essence of interior design will always be about people and how they live. It is about the realities of what makes for an attractive, civilized, and meaningful environment, not about fashion or what’s in or what’s out. This is not an easy job.” Interior design is indeed one of the complex tasks that deal with transforming spaces into beautiful environments to live and work within.

Here, Business Connect is back with another inspiring journey of a remarkable venture and its passionate leader. Gazella Interiors and Alanza are two interior designing companies that are setting higher standards in their  respective realm with their unique ideas and implementations.

Our editorial team had an interesting virtual session with the leadership panel and the founder of the ventures. The management team shared numerous unknown facts about the company and its overall journey so far. We truly hope and desire that this fascinating read will surely inspire the upcoming entrepreneurs out there and will encourage our global readership members to break their barriers and chase their dreams.

COMPANY PORTFOLIO
Explaining to us the exclusive portfolio of the company, the Founder enunciates, “For me, business was a beginning of a new life. I wanted to be a businessman since my childhood. My ambitions and efforts clearly explained to people that my utmost desire was to always be first and at the top in everything I do. But I believe that life had different plans for me.

I was in the Kerala police for the last 10+ years, and during that point, it hit my mind that there is a need and high time to bring a change in my career. Hence, I entered the business realm with lots of passion and dedication for the same. The desire to do things well is ingrained in my mind, and my passion for business has led me to resign from my job (which many at the time considered as a well-settled life).”

One of the first things that the founder looked at when he entered the business domain was what can he bring new into the particular sector to fill the gaps in the same. One of the major challenges the interior segment was facing at the time was the lack of quality materials. “We handpick the best material available and offer choices to our customers. That way, we have been able to have completely satisfied clientele that becomes our lifelong customers,” says the founder.

Being analytical in decision-making skills makes the founder look at all ends before any decision is taken him. “I think, reflect, and try to find out if there is something close to a perfect solution. If there isn’t, it’s time to start from the beginning. There is no problem without a solution and there is no challenge without an answer. Moreover, I believe that my people skills and financial discipline makes me stand apart as a leader. I prioritize customer relationships, and I always stand and think in the shoes of my customers to understand the factors that would need to be addressed,” he adds.

The company scales the success ladder at a brisk pace by following its vision to bring the company to a million dollar venture in the coming years. “We are planning to expand in the next year, associating with various international brands and opening Trivandrum’s biggest interior showroom. Within the next six months, we will be entering the manufacturing segment also, focusing on the manufacture of interior products.”- Founder, Gazella Interiors

THE SOURCE OF MOTIVATION
The leader of Gazella Interiors and Alanza truly believe that innovative ideas come from our thoughts and not from any external factor. We are the one who has to constantly be active and engage ourselves to ensure that there is no dearth of innovative ideas. Hence, he uses his quality time to think about the next big thing for the company.

“To get a clear picture and motivate myself as a leader, I follow various books and online content that provide immense value to me and help me stay ahead in the market. Some of them are Rich Dad Poor Dad, Who Moved My Cheese, Believe in Yourself, Secret, YouTube videos of Jack Ma. I truly believe that Professionalism (the ability to think from the client’s side) and genuineness are some of the qualities that I look for in my employees.

Our work culture is one that of a family, we work and grow together. We have regular meetings where we look at the issues that we are facing and address each one, one after the other. To ensure recreational work, we have regular trips and group activities to ensure collectiveness and coordination between the teams,” says the Founder.

PARTING WORDS
The company has completed 400+ projects in the last six years. The team has worked with several chains and multinationals, hospitals, government offices, and so on during this time. The company has also bagged the award titled- Metro MSME Best Preferred Interior Brand in Trivandrum 2022. And in the coming years, the team looks at the company as one that would cross the 500-crore turn over in the next five years. Before signing off, the passionate leader encourages the budding entrepreneurs out there by quoting, “Be passionate, and everything will come to you.”
