Alongside Malhotra, five others were detained across Haryana and Punjab, including Devendra Singh Dhillon, a 25-year-old political science student from Kaithal, and individuals named Palak Sher Masih, Suraj Masih, Jafar Hussain, and an unnamed man from Kaithal. The arrests, part of “Operation Sindoor,” follow a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan on May 10, 2025, prompted by the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists.
