Madharaasi Full Movie Review & Explanation: Everything You Need to Know
Hello friends, today we’re going to explain the 2025 film Madrasi, which was also released in Hindi under the title Dil Madrasi. This movie isn’t just a film—it’s a war. A war between the NIA and the dark underworld of crime. On one side stand two gangsters, Virat(Vidyut Jammwal) and Chirag(Shabeer Kallarakkal), and on the other, an ordinary young man named Raghu—broken, depressed, and so consumed by his pain that he tries to embrace death every single day. But fate has written something else for him—because this very boy will rise to become the biggest hero of this story.
So let’s dive into the explanation of Madrasi, a film that won’t let you leave your seat until the very last scene. And if you enjoy this breakdown, don’t forget to like and Share.
The film opens with four large tankers moving from Bihar toward Tamil Nadu. But these aren’t just ordinary tankers—they’re loaded with weapons. A dangerous syndicate’s plan is to flood every hand with guns, trigger endless gang wars, and push Tamil Nadu into chaos. These tankers are headed straight to Virat and Chirag, two dreaded gangsters who will distribute the weapons.
But the NIA gets wind of the plan. They know if these guns reach the streets, the state will be destroyed. So they launch an ambush on the convoy. Just when it seems they have the upper hand, Virat and Chirag enter the scene. Virat, especially, is portrayed as ruthless, while his bond with Chirag is unbreakable—so much so that Chirag once sacrificed his own hand for him. Their arrival crushes the NIA’s mission. In the crossfire, NIA officer Prem is shot and left badly injured.
The story then shifts to Raghu(Sivakarthikeyan), a broken young man standing atop a building, ready to jump. Onlookers record him while he cries out that he loved Malti(Rukmini Vasanth) deeply, but she left him. Unable to live without her, he decides to end his life. He jumps—but fate intervenes, and he survives, only slightly injured. He’s taken to the hospital in the same ambulance as Officer Prem.
Though both are treated, Raghu keeps trying to kill himself again and again. Each time, someone stops him. Officer Prem notices this strange boy, wondering why he’s so eager to die. Later, Prem learns through his sources that Virat and Chirag have stored all the weapons in a gas factory. Destroying it would wipe out their entire stockpile. But Prem has already lost many men in the last mission. He doesn’t want to risk more lives. Then he remembers Raghu—the boy who wants to die anyway. Prem hatches a plan to use Raghu, promising him “a worthy death” if he completes the mission. Raghu agrees, almost happily.
Meanwhile, Virat and Chirag begin distributing guns across Tamil Nadu—even children end up with weapons. Petty arguments turn deadly as people casually pull out guns. It’s just the beginning of a nightmare. Prem realizes the mission must succeed at any cost.
But before trusting Raghu, he investigates his background. The shocking truth comes out—Raghu is mentally unstable. He suffers from dementia, a condition born from deep trauma. Years ago, his entire family—14 people—died in a bus fire caused by live wires falling on the vehicle. Raghu wasn’t on the bus, but he watched his family burn alive. Since then, whenever he sees someone suffering, he rushes to help, treating strangers as his family.
This is how Malti, the girl he loved, first saw his violent yet compassionate nature. At first, she was disturbed—Raghu could go too far, even hurting others while trying to protect someone. But over time, she saw his heart, his kindness, and his brokenness. Slowly, she fell in love with him. When Raghu confessed his illness, Malti silenced him, saying she already knew—and it was because of this very vulnerability that she loved him even more.
Their love gave Raghu a reason to heal. With Malti’s presence, his condition improved. He no longer rushed to save strangers, no longer lost himself in others’ pain. For the first time in years, Raghu began to feel normal—until life pulled him back into the storm.
When Malti notices all this, she feels deeply troubled—because Raghu had now started living like any ordinary man. She shares her concerns with the doctor, who explains that since Malti entered his life, Raghu has completely changed. His illness had faded, and he was living like a normal person. But that illness was the very reason he selflessly helped others in need.
Malti, however, had fallen in love with the Raghu who cared for people without expecting anything in return—the Raghu who would rush to help anyone in trouble. Now that he no longer behaved that way, she felt something was missing.
The doctor then suggests that if Malti distances herself, Raghu will return to his old self—the one who lived to help others. After hearing this, Malti makes the painful decision to leave him. She sends Raghu a voice note, telling him she can’t stay with him anymore, asking him not to look for her, and disappears from his life forever.
Heartbroken, Raghu starts attempting to take his own life again, because his love for Malti was boundless.
The story then shifts back to the present, where we see a young boy wreaking havoc inside a school with a gun. He fears no one. The police gather outside but hesitate to enter, knowing he’s just a child—but one who could shoot anyone without hesitation. Even the NIA officers stand frozen outside.
But Raghu—fearless as ever—walks straight inside. The boy immediately fires two bullets, both hitting Raghu in the shoulder.
Raghu thought this time he would finally die after being shot. But just then, commandos rushed in, disarmed the boy, and rescued everyone. Later, in the hospital, Raghu regained consciousness and realized once again that his plan to die had failed—he was still alive. That’s when it struck him: perhaps his life was being spared again and again for a greater purpose. With this realization, Raghu finally agreed to join the NIA’s mission.
Officer Prem gave him all the details about the gas factory. The plan was simple yet dangerous—Raghu had to stay inside the factory after 6:00 PM and blow up the entire place with a massive explosion, destroying all the weapons stored inside.
That evening, Raghu entered the gas factory. Workers noticed someone still inside and rushed to stop him. But Raghu fought them mercilessly. Soon after, Virat himself arrived. Normally terrifying, Virat was now drunk—so drunk he could barely stand, let alone fight. Confused about what to do, Raghu quickly grabbed Virat’s phone and called Prem. Prem told him that Virat was an extremely dangerous gangster, and if Raghu had the chance, he should kill him.
Just then, Chirag called on Virat’s phone. Without thinking, Raghu answered. When Chirag realized it wasn’t Virat, he threatened that if anything happened to Virat, he would wipe out the entire NIA. At that moment, Raghu cleverly put both Prem and Chirag on conference call, telling them to decide his next move.
Meanwhile, back at the NIA office, Malti had returned. She had forgiven Raghu and wanted to see him again. Prem informed Raghu that Malti was waiting for him, ready to be with him forever. Hearing this, Chirag learned that Malti was Raghu’s girlfriend. Furious, he warned Raghu that if Virat was harmed, Malti would be killed.
This sent a shockwave through Raghu’s mind. Overcome with rage, he lost control and riddled Virat with bullets.
The next scene shifts to the NIA’s safe house, where Raghu reunites with Malti. She tearfully tells him she should never have left, that she loves him just as deeply, and no matter his illness, she will never abandon him again.
But then comes the twist—Virat, though badly wounded, wasn’t dead. The bullets had only struck his shoulders. He was alive, though in no shape to fight. Chirag, however, believed Virat was dead, and his grief turned into uncontrollable fury. He vowed revenge on Raghu and Malti.
Prem soon learned through informants that Chirag was plotting to kill them both. To protect them, the NIA moved Raghu and Malti from the dark house to their secure office, where there was stronger security. But the mission had failed—since Raghu never planted explosives, all the weapons were still in Chirag’s possession.
Even as Raghu and Malti settled into the NIA office, Malti suddenly remembered that Raghu’s dementia medicines had been left back at the dark house. Concerned, she asked him to retrieve them. Without informing anyone, Raghu sneaked back to the dark house.
Meanwhile, Chirag and his men stormed the NIA office, unleashing brutal chaos. Though several NIA officers fought back bravely, Chirag slaughtered them mercilessly. Virat’s supposed death had driven him into madness, and nothing could stop his rage.
Chirag wasn’t going to spare anyone. In the middle of the bloodshed, he finally spotted Malti—the very person he had been searching for. But Raghu was nowhere to be seen. Just then, Prem’s son Sandeep, an NIA officer, arrived and tried to fight Chirag. Brave as he was, Sandeep was brutally slaughtered by Chirag and his men.
At the very moment Chirag was about to kill Malti, a call came through Virat’s phone. To his shock, it was Raghu. Raghu had discovered the chaos at the NIA office and realized Chirag was behind it. He knew Malti’s life was in danger, so he told Chirag that Virat was alive and in his custody. If Malti was harmed, Raghu swore to kill Virat.
Chirag froze. He spared Malti but took her with him, knowing that if she stayed by his side, Virat would eventually come to him. What Chirag didn’t realize was that this was a fatal mistake. If he had left Malti behind, Raghu would have willingly handed Virat over. But by abducting her, he had unleashed Raghu’s fury.
Through an informer secretly working with Chirag, Raghu learned the location of their hideout. Consumed by rage, he stormed the place, killing everyone in his path with brutal madness. When Chirag declared that even if Virat never came, he would kill Malti anyway, Raghu snapped. With terrifying rage, he slaughtered Chirag in cold blood.
Meanwhile, at the dark house, Virat had fully recovered. Inhumanly strong, he massacred NIA officers who tried to stop him. Soon, Malti was dragged to Virat’s safe house—a massive container factory. Virat blamed Malti for Chirag’s death and vowed to complete his friend’s dream: to flood Tamil Nadu with weapons.
Things spiraled further when Raghu, now labeled too dangerous, was thrown into jail. Syndicate men were sent to kill him. But instead, Raghu massacred them all, proving to Prem that he was not just a pawn—he was a storm. Escaping, Raghu carved a bloody path through the syndicate, step by step, until he reached Virat’s factory.
There, he fought through countless enemies alone before finally coming face to face with Virat. The gangster was ferocious, and for a moment, it seemed Raghu couldn’t win. But then Virat made one fatal mistake—he tried to kill Malti.
That sight unleashed Raghu’s madness. The man once called “mentally unstable” transformed into an unstoppable beast. Virat, who had terrified so many, now trembled in fear. Raghu tore through him mercilessly, beating him into submission until Virat dropped his weapons. Finally, Raghu killed him in the most brutal way possible.
But not before Malti was shot. For a moment, it seemed she might die. Yet, against all odds, she survived. In the end, Malti recovered fully, and Raghu, scarred but victorious, reunited with the love of his life.
And with that, Madrasi comes to a close—a tale of blood, madness, and love that refused to die.
