Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the final phase of Mumbai Metro Line-3, connecting Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade, marking a significant milestone in the city’s urban transport infrastructure.
With the launch of the 10.99 km Phase 2B stretch, Mumbai’s first fully underground metro corridor, also known as the Aqua Line, will become fully operational from Thursday. This corridor now spans a total distance of 33.5 km, offering commuters a faster, safer, and more efficient travel option across the city.
The prime minister performed the inauguration virtually from Navi Mumbai, coinciding with the inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport, highlighting a major leap in Maharashtra’s transportation and connectivity projects.
