In response to a news report, the Election Commission has asked Prashant Kishor, a former campaign strategist who is now a politician, to clarify why his name appears twice in West Bengal and Bihar voter lists. Kishor has retaliated by challenging the poll authority to arrest him if it was his fault and questioning the Commission why his name was not removed during the SIR process if there was any duplicate. “The Election Commission should explain why my name wasn’t removed when SIR was implemented in Bihar if it exists on two voter lists. Since 2019, my name has been in Karakat. I was a voter in Bengal for the two years I spent there. The Election Commission is sending a notification; why? Arrest me if I’m to blame.”
