Review, rating, and real-time release updates for Sitaare Zameen Par: Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan, is now showing in theaters. As a spiritual follow-up to the popular Taare Zameen Par, the movie is a remake of the highly regarded Spanish film Champions from 2018. The tale revolves around Aamir Khan’s character, Gulshan, a suspended basketball coach who receives a community service term.

According to Aamir’s interview, Gulshan is “a very rude and politically incorrect character” who makes fun of almost everyone in his vicinity. However, this coach’s path of transformation is the central theme of the movie. Gulshan discovers what it means to be a decent person by his interactions with the 10 players, some of whom have autism and Down syndrome.
In addition to Aamir, Genelia Deshmukh plays Gulshan’s romantic interest in the movie. Genelia has shared in multiple interviews that she auditioned several times before landing the role, underscoring the project’s demanding casting process.
The inclusion of actual people with special needs as team members is one of the film’s most notable features. With the goal of bringing real voices and experiences to the cinema, Aamir and director RS Prasanna were dedicated to honest depiction.
Sitaare Zameen Par, which was initially scheduled for release in December 2024, was postponed till the summer of 2025 while Aamir worked diligently on post-production to ensure the picture met his exacting standards.
Like Taare Zameen Par, the film’s music is composed by the renowned trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Ram Sampath, who frequently works with Aamir Khan Productions, composed the background music. According to industry trackers, the movie will be shown in more than 6,000 theaters around India.
