SSRC Logistics : Built on Roads, Raised by Resolve
Every industry has its quiet pillars—enterprises that keep the economy moving without seeking the spotlight. SSRC Logistics plays a vital role in the Indian logistics industry. A transport operation, which started off small, has developed into a company that is wellknown and respected throughout the nation, for its logistics and warehousing services, driven by consistency, discipline, and an unwavering respect for people who make movement possible.
SSRC Logistics, which is based in Goa, operates with more than 1,000 owned trucks, over 10 warehouses across India, and a workforce of 500 permanent employees and nearly 1,000 drivers. The firm provides nationwide comprehensive logistics and warehousing services from its multiple locations across the country. These include air, road, rail and refrigerated transportation services along with warehouse services. At the heart of this journey is Mr. Pawan Choudhary, Chairman and Founder, whose life has been shaped by the road long before logistics became a boardroom discussion.
Learning the Industry from the Loading Bay Upwards
Mr. Pawan Choudhary’s story is not about capital or connections. Soon after completing his schooling, he joined the transportation industry as a loading supervisor, learning about operations from the ground up. And over the next four decades, he levelled-up through supervisory, managerial, and leadership roles, developing the business acumen —from fleet handling and driver coordination to customer expectations and regulatory realities.
In 2005, well versed with business operations and conviction, he started Shree Shyam Road Carrier with just two trucks. The company was initially characterised by long working hours, direct supervision of each delivery and a commitment to fulfilling every contract as agreed. In 2020, as the company expanded in scale and scope, it transitioned into SSRC Logistics, reflecting its broader capabilities and structured operations.
Today, the business is guided not only by Mr. Pawan but also by his brother Mr. Krishan Choudhary, who has led daily operations since inception, and the next generation—Sumit Choudhary and Sachin Choudhary, both internationally educated and actively involved in strengthening the company’s future.
Logistics That Covers Every Mile and Every Temperature
SSRC Logistics offers a wide spectrum of transportation and warehousing services, built to serve the varied needs of India’s industrial and consumer economy. Its road transportation covers involve the transportation of various goods including non-perishable items – such as electronics, cars tyres, foodstuff and also pharmaceuticals – along with cold storage. These are for ice cream, frozen goods, chocolates, fresh produce and dairy products.
A fleet of this size comprises more than 350 refrigerated vehicles with the capacity to keep the temperature at as low as minus eighteen degrees Celsius. This fleet also comprises from 20-ft trucks to 40-ft trailers. These vehicles are ideal for transporting goods over long distances.
Beyond road transport, SSRC also provides air cargo services and rail transportation, including long-term train leasing for high-volume clients.
Warehousing is another strong pillar. SSRC owns and operates over one million square feet of Grade A warehousing space, with facilities across Goa, Maharashtra, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi—many of which are leased longterm to multinational corporations.
Seeing the Gaps Before They Became Conversations
When starting SSRC Logistics, the initial observation by its founder, Mr Pawan, was the large gap that existed between the demand for, and organised provision of, logistics services. While the backbone of the economy, logistics were unreliable, fragmented and manual. These issues, including low fleet usage, driver safety issues and a lack of openness, were considered to be unavoidable.
SSRC chose a different path—building structure where disorder was accepted, and reliability where uncertainty was common. As government reforms such as GST, FASTag, and e-way bills reshaped the sector, the company was well-positioned to align with a more formal, accountable ecosystem.
Discipline in a Business That Tests Patience
Managing large scale logistics comes with the day to day problems of fuel price volatility, driver availability, vehicle maintenance, tolls, state-wise compliance, and service consistency across regions. He has a leadership style which is founded on being patient and prepared and which focuses on people. Rather than reacting, SSRC invested in processes, risk management systems, and long-term planning. The result is a company that values stability over shortcuts and credibility over quick gains.
Technology That Protects People and Promises
SSRC’s use of technology is driven by responsibility rather than novelty. All trucks are fitted with AI-powered cameras connected to a centralized Control Tower at the Goa headquarters. These systems monitor driver behavior in real time—flagging speeding, phone usage, rash driving, or unsafe conduct—allowing immediate intervention.
For cold-chain customers, SSRC provides live GPS tracking and temperature monitoring, ensuring full visibility of consignments. The company has also developed SSRC Marketplace, a mobile application that allows small fleet owners and single-truck operators to access live loads across India. This platform supports inclusivity while improving efficiency across the ecosystem.
A Culture That Respects the Driver First
One of SSRC’s most defining values is its treatment of drivers. In an industry where drivers are often overlooked, SSRC recognizes them as the backbone of logistics. Every driver’s birthday is celebrated—company staff personally visit loading or unloading sites to mark the occasion.
This respect translates into loyalty, accountability, and pride. SSRC believes that when people feel valued, performance follows naturally.
Trust Built Over Two Decades of Delivery
SSRC Logistics serves leading brands across FMCG, tyres, electronics, cold-chain, paints, and consumer goods. On the client list of SSRC Logistics are Nestlé, ITC, Mondelez, P&G, Asian Paints, JK Tyre, Apollo Tyres, Samsung, LG, Amul, Ferrero, and many more.
These relationships, built over 20+ years, are founded on commitment and timely delivery rather than aggressive sales.
From Two Trucks to National Recognition
From its humble beginnings, SSRC has grown into a company recognized by clients year after year. Among its accolades is the title of “Most Dynamic Moving Transport Company in India”, along with multiple customer awards for service excellence.
Looking Ahead with Clarity and Confidence
SSRC’s future roadmap includes continued investment in technology, fleet expansion, and infrastructure. The firm has acquired a 10.5-acre Hindustan Unilever factory site in Kundaim, Goa, where it plans to build two 150,000 sq. feets warehouses. Expansion plans include the opening of additional warehouses. There are also plans to establish new outlets and increase the fleet of lorries. Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh are the current destinations but further international expansion is planned.
For Mr. Pawan Choudhary, logistics is not just a business—it is a responsibility. A responsibility to customers, drivers, communities, and the economy itself. And that belief continues to steer SSRC Logistics forward, mile after mile.
