01. The Shawshank Redemption:

It is American prison drama film written and directed by Frank Darabont. the movie was released in 1994 in the theatres of America. It is based on the novel written by Stephen King in 1982. You either get busy living or get busy dying. You can either compare or complain that life is not fair to you or you can accept the situation and focus on getting better everyday.  

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of the things.  If you have hope, you still have the chance to live your life in your own terms. You need to work hard to get what you want.  Salvation lies within. You can do anything by calmness and cognitive ability of your mind. Though fear can make you a prisoner but hope can set you free.

02. Forrest Gump:

It is an American comedy drama movie which was released in 1994. Whatever Forrest does, he does with full dedication. He put all his heart and soul into his works. We should approach every single task or obstacles in our life without any ego attached. Instead, just fully dedicate ourselves into mastering that task. If we always just try our very best, we might end up being as successful as Forrest Gump. It is beautiful to see life as a whole just an endless stream of opportunities. It is up to you to grab them.

03. Yes Man:

Jim Carrey in the movie plays a guy who go through life and say no to literally everything and he feels like that is the right way to go when he found it until he had the change of heart. Until he has a revolution Where he decides to completely change his life, he took a completely 180 degree and start saying yes to every opportunity in his life. Of course this being a Jim Carrey movie, you can imagine 2 end up this movie in all kind of wacky situation.

But this is not the important message of this movie. this movie is a reminder to live your life at its fullest every single day. you really never know what kind of great development came out of simply saying yes. this is what self-help movie is about which is about saying yes to all the opportunities in your life. This movie also gives a message to never settle and always embracing all the opportunities that live provides with.

04. Into the Wild:

It is the story about young smart college kid who decides to leave all of society behind and embark on a journey into wild nature. Instead of working on his career, finding a new job and settling down, he decides to abandon all of that. Instead of travelling around the US with literally no money and eventually end up in Alaska living in wilderness.

This movie gives a message to know about yourself and to know what you exactly want to do in your life. Many people spend their entire lives climbing the ladder of success, only to find out in the end that it’s been leading against the wrong wall.  this movie gives a clear reminder to first think of that wall in which you want to lead before you start climbing the ladder of success.

05. The Pursuit of Happiness:

The pursuit of happiness is a movie with Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith which is arguably the best movie that Will Smith ever made. In it, he plays a single father which becomes a very beautiful story of the father who just don’t quit. Its not a story just about a career driven guy.

Instead, it portrays the story of a guy who has a clear understanding what kind of life he wants. He has a clear vision of what kind of life he wants to provide to his child and he just won’t quit until he gets there. It teaches us the importance of having a clear goal, values, the importance of believing in your dreams and the necessity of having a belief system that you follow.

06. Up in the Air:

Directed by Jason Reitman, the movie was released in 2009 in theatres. This movie has been nominated for Oscars 6 times. it is a comedy drama film enrich George Clooney who is working as a frequent flyer, fires people for a living. In the movie, Ryan gives motivational speeches with the use of analogy, What’s in your backpack? It signifies the importance of living freely and keeping aside the burden some relationships and material possessions. The movie has on critique remarks for its charismatic performance which delivers a blend of emotion and humour.

07. Rocky:

Rocky is a 1976 sports drama film, directed by John G Avildsen and is written by and starring Sylvester Stallone. It tells the story of Rocky Balboa, the small-town boxer from Philadelphia working at a debt collector for a loan shark. When heavyweight champion Apollo Creed visits Philadelphia, his manager set up an exhibition match between Creed and Rocky, touting the flight as a chance for a nobody to become a somebody. Do the story of the boxer can be predicted thoroughly but the magic lies in the script and the stunning performance of Sylvester Stallone.

08. Good Will Hunting:

Directed by Gus Van Sant, starring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Robin Williams, it’s the story about Will Hunting. A brilliant but troubled young adult, we see he personal growth as he develops his relationship with his therapist. The picture depicts challenges faced by the young man, especially related to express themselves.

09. Groundhog Day:

Directed by Harold Ramis, starring Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell, Chris Elliott and Stephen Tobolowsky, it is a movie which highlights the dramatic gifts of Murray giving a plenty of room for laughs. Bill Murray in this movie finds himself trapped in a time warp. He is living the same day repeating in the same cycle until he realises that every moment holds a significant place in one’s life.

This movie makes you question all the values and belief systems that we usually take for granted in our society. This movie helps you to question some belief systems and values that has been taught since childhood bio parents or teachers or by society as a whole. you can decide by your own what kind of life you want to live and what kind of values you want to incorporate into it.
