YouTube Down: Global Outage Hits Google’s Video and Music Platforms
In the United States, YouTube and YouTube Music are experiencing severe outages; on Wednesday afternoon, over 200,000 users reported problems. YouTube is down for thousands of users in the United States on Wednesday afternoon. DownDetector, a platform that tracks such outages based on users’ reports, showed massive outage with YouTube services, with nearly 203,763 users reporting.
Additionally, many reported experiencing an outage with YouTubeTV and YouTube Music, the music streaming service. While over 2379 people reported problems with YouTube TV, over 4,873 users reported an outage with YouTube Music.
According to DownDetector, streaming video and music accounted for 54% of user problems.
YouTube hasn’t formally addressed the problem as of yet. Although YouTube help is actively responding to the questions of irate users on X, they have not yet provided an explanation for the possible reason of the outage.

The United States reported the majority of the YouTube service interruptions. In every major city, the services were impacted, according to DownDetector. Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago, New York, Washington, and Detroit were among the cities most impacted.

YouTube has not yet disclosed the reason behind the attack, despite speculation that it may be a denial-of-service attack.
