Live score for the first Twenty20 International between the national cricket teams of Zimbabwe and South Africa: South Africa defeated Zimbabwe by five wickets today to start the Tri-Series. With Dewald Brevis scoring a 17-ball 41 and Rubin Herman hitting 45 off 37, SA chased down 142 in 15.5 overs.
New Zealand is also included in the series. Sikandar Raza, who returned after missing the home Test series against South Africa, will skipper Zimbabwe. South Africa’s leader will be Rassie van der Dussen. Six Twenty20 Internationals will be played, with the top two sides advancing to the July 26 final.

Earlier, Zimbabwe’s batting effort ended with a thud as George Linde’s brilliant last over, yielding two wickets for just four runs, restricted them to 141/6. After a steady start, Zimbabwe lost wickets at regular intervals, but Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl’s 66-run partnership for the fourth wicket gave them hope. Raza scored a 34-ball fifty, but Linde’s exceptional bowling in the final over denied Zimbabwe a strong finish. Linde finished with 3/10 in three overs, while Lungi Ngidi, Nandre Burger, and Nqaba Peter took one wicket each, doing a fine job for South Africa. Raza remained unbeaten on 54.
