In a historic moment for the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), a 14-year-old prodigy from Haryana’s Mahendragarh, Mayank, has etched his name in the annals of the show’s history by becoming the youngest contestant ever to win ₹1 crore. The remarkable feat unfolded on the 15th edition of KBC, hosted by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan.

Mayank, a confident Class 8 student, displayed exceptional knowledge and gameplay throughout the show. The intensity peaked when he confidently tackled the 16th question, securing the coveted ₹1 crore prize. A promotional video by the show’s makers captures the winning moment, where Mayank emphasizes the significance of knowledge, stating, “The only thing that matters is your knowledge.”

Having sailed through 15 questions without the need for lifelines, Mayank showcased strategic gameplay by utilizing his first lifeline for the ₹12.5 lakh question. His journey to success culminated in a nail-biting moment when he correctly answered the ₹1 crore question – “Which European Cartographer is credited with creating the map that has the name America to the newly discovered continent?” Mayank chose the correct option, Martin Waldseemuller, securing the impressive prize.

While Mayank attempted the final question for ₹7 crore, he opted to quit the game when unable to provide the correct answer. Nevertheless, his performance earned accolades not only from the audience but also from Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who congratulated the young champion.

In a post-win interview, Mayank expressed his gratitude, feeling “very fortunate” to have showcased his knowledge on the esteemed platform. He thanked his parents for their consistent guidance and host Amitabh Bachchan for motivating him throughout the game. “To be the youngest contestant to win such a huge amount is a moment of pride for me and my family,” Mayank exclaimed.

The achievement not only highlights Mayank’s intellectual prowess but also underscores the inclusive nature of KBC, providing a platform for young minds to shine on the national stage. As the nation celebrates this prodigious win, Mayank’s success serves as an inspiration for aspiring contestants on Kaun Banega Crorepati.
