If you dream of joining the Indian Army, Agniveer could be a great opportunity for you — especially for girls. Even if your height is just 5 feet, there are excellent chances available under the Agniveer scheme. If a candidate performs well during the 4-year tenure, there’s a 25% chance of being absorbed into permanent service.
Ajit, a coaching expert and Agniveer trainer based in Ranchi, told Local18 that girls only need a minimum height of 5 feet to qualify for Agniveer. Those who perform well in the job could even be offered permanent roles later. So, Agniveer not only offers a way into the Indian Army but also opens doors to long-term career opportunities in defense.
How to Prepare
Expert Ajit explains that one of the key advantages of the Agniveer recruitment process is that it doesn’t involve a heavy syllabus or a highly difficult exam. The questions are mainly based on Mathematics and Science up to the 10th-grade level. In addition, there is a section on General Awareness.
If you study NCERT books thoroughly, especially for Maths and Science, it will be more than enough. For General Awareness, make a habit of regularly reading newspapers and magazines to stay updated.
Focus on NCERT and Practice with Mock Tests
Ajit further suggests that candidates should thoroughly study NCERT Mathematics from Classes 8, 9, and 10. If possible, also glance through some topics from Class 11. That’s all you really need — nothing beyond this is required.
After covering the syllabus, focus on taking as many mock tests as possible. This is extremely important because, even if you know the answers, solving them quickly can be a challenge. Mock tests help improve your speed and accuracy, which are crucial during the actual exam.
Physical Fitness Is a Must
Physical fitness is equally important for Agniveer selection. Your weight should be proportionate to your height — being overweight can lead to disqualification.
Additionally, stay active in exercises like high jumping and running. Just one hour of running every morning is enough for girls. You don’t need intense workouts — maintaining this routine alone can adequately prepare you for the physical tests in Agniveer recruitment.
