New CEO Of Microsoft Windows: IIT Alumni

Pavan Davuluri, a 23-year expert at Microsoft has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Windows along with Surface on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
As per Verge which is a tech news portal, previously Microsoft divided the leadership of Windows and Surface, Davuluri headed the Surface and is now overtaking the role of Mikhail Parakhin as the CEO of Windows, handling both wings.
Davuluri completed his graduation from IIT(Indian Institute of Technology) Madras, and later went to the University of Maryland, U.S to complete his Master’s Programme.
Davuluri started his career in 2001 as reliability component manager at Microsoft and slowly made his way up to the VP for Windows and Silicon & Systems Integration in 2022, later was given the role of Corporate VP for Windows + Devices in 2023, and now as the CEO of Windows and Surface.
According to Verge’s report, Microsoft’s head of experiences and devices, Rajesh Jha in an internal message said, “ that this decision is to bring together both the teams for company to take a holistic approach to build silicon, systems, experiences, and devices that span Windows client and cloud for this AI era.”
He also said, “The Windows team will continue to work closely with the Microsoft AI team on AI, silicon, and experiences,”.
