The full list of 101 candidates for the next Bihar Assembly elections has been made public by the Janata Dal (United).

In accordance with its quota of 101 seats under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seat-sharing agreement, the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) submitted two lists of candidates on Wednesday and Thursday, totaling 101 names for the next 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election. The party listed 57 candidates in its initial list, which was released on October 15 and included both current ministers and a number of newcomers. The party’s complete list of candidates was completed on October 16 with the announcement of the second list, which included 44 candidates.

There will be two stages to the Bihar Assembly elections. On November 6, 121 constituencies will cast ballots in the first phase. On November 11, 122 constituencies will cast ballots in the second phase. The Election Commission of India said on Monday, October 6, 2025, that the vote counting will take place on November 14.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said that there will be no room for threats against voters or candidates and that the government has been given strong instructions to tolerate no violence. He stated that more than 7.4 crore individuals, including 14 lakh first-time voters, are eligible to cast ballots in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The Bihar elections would be held in a transparent and peaceful way, according to the CEC.
