Dhurandhar 2 Faces Legal Trouble as Drone Complaint Is Filed During Mumbai Shoot
Amid growing excitement for Dhurandhar 2, the upcoming Ranveer Singh starrer has landed in unexpected legal trouble. A complaint has been filed against the film’s location manager for allegedly operating a drone without proper permission in South Mumbai’s high-security Fort area.
According to reports, the complaint names location manager Rinku Rajpal Valmiki, accusing him of flying a drone without obtaining the required approvals. Due to the sensitive nature of the location, an FIR was registered at MRA Marg Police Station on February 1.
What Is the Complaint About?
As per NDTV, the drone was used during the filming of a scene without following mandatory security protocols. The Fort area, known for its administrative importance and strict security measures, requires multiple clearances for aerial filming. Officials claim no such permissions were taken.
The shoot had reportedly been underway for several days when the incident occurred. On February 1, the production was on its third day at the location, with Sanjay Dutt also present on set. Since January 30, the historic Fort stretch had been transformed to resemble a crowded street in Pakistan for the film.
So far, the production team has not issued an official statement regarding the matter.
Dhurandhar 2 Teaser Released
Despite the controversy, the makers have released the much-awaited teaser of the sequel, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Shared by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the teaser reuses the post-credit scene from the first film and does not include any fresh footage. Still, fan excitement remains sky-high.
The original Dhurandhar, which released on December 2, became a massive global success. The story of an Indian spy infiltrating the Pakistani mafia struck a chord with audiences and went on to earn over ₹1,300 crore worldwide.
What’s Next in the Sequel?
In Dhurandhar 2, fans are eager to see Ranveer Singh’s Hamza Ali Mazari tighten his grip within the Pakistani underworld and seek revenge against Arjun Rampal’s Major Iqbal and others for their actions against India.
Dhurandhar 2 is slated to release in theatres on March 19. The film is expected to face stiff competition at the box office, as Yash’s Toxic is also scheduled to release on the same day.
