In the heart of Delhi, a young and determined 24-year-old leader is quietly transforming the way healthcare is delivered. Diksha Panesar, Director of Aadhya9 Multispeciality Hospital, is living proof that leadership is not defined by background; it is defined by courage, commitment, and compassion.
A Journey That Was Never Planned
Diksha’s journey into healthcare was anything but conventional. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resources from Canada, a field far removed from healthcare. At that time, she had no idea that life was preparing her for something entirely different, something far more challenging and meaningful.
During a visit to India for vacations, she discovered that her father had invested in a hospital project. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the business partner could not continue. What seemed like a setback for the family became a turning point in Diksha’s life.
With no medical background, no prior exposure to hospital management, and no established support system in the healthcare industry, she made a bold decision — she stepped up.
Learning from the Ground Up
Taking charge of a hospital without prior medical experience was not easy. Every day was a lesson. Every challenge was a test. From understanding clinical operations and compliance to managing staff, patient care, and administration, she learned everything from the ground level.
The last two years have been a journey of resilience, sleepless nights, tough decisions, and constant growth. Running a hospital without an “upper hand” in the industry required unmatched determination. However, through persistence and belief, she and her team have built a strong foundation.
Today, Aadhya9 stands tall — not just as a healthcare institution, but as a symbol of passion-driven leadership
From Learning Roles to Leading Roles
Diksha’s leadership did not emerge overnight. Her journey reflects steady growth across roles, industries, and countries.
While studying in Canada, she worked in diverse environments — from customer-facing roles to HR positions. Each role strengthened her understanding of discipline, communication, and responsibility. Even her early customer service roles built resilience, patience, and people management — qualities that would later become crucial in healthcare leadership. Managing teams, handling scheduling, and ensuring protocol adherence taught her accountability at a higher level.
When she transitioned into Aadhya9 Multispeciality Hospital as Head of HR & Administration in January 2024, she was not stepping into the unknown; rather, she was applying years of layered learning. She built internal systems, streamlined workflows, and established operational discipline within the hospital.
By March 2025, her commitment, performance, and clarity of vision led her to assume the role of Director. Her journey is not just about a title change. It is about earning responsibility, step by step, role by role.
A Vision Beyond Treatment
For Diksha, healthcare is not just about medicines and machines; it is about people. Her mission is simple yet powerful:
- To provide “the best and equal treatment to all”
- To create a “homely, stress-free environment”
- To ensure every patient feels “heard, safe, and cared for”
Unlike many directors who remain behind office doors, Diksha personally meets patients and their attendants. She ensures there is no room for chaos, unease, or confusion. Her hands-on approach builds trust, and in healthcare, trust is everything.
Leadership Beyond the Hospital Walls
For Diksha, leadership does not end at the hospital gate. She believes healthcare must reach people before illness becomes critical.
Under her guidance, Aadhya9 regularly organises community health camps and awareness drives across nearby localities. From free blood pressure and sugar check-ups to women’s health consultations and preventive screenings, these camps are designed to educate and empower. She is personally involved in planning these initiatives — coordinating with doctors, ensuring logistics, and sometimes even interacting directly with families who attend.
Health awareness on maternal health and early diagnosis are conducted to encourage preventive care. For Diksha, these initiatives are not publicity efforts; they are a responsibility.
The hospital also provides treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, ensuring that financially weaker patients are not deprived of quality care. Regular free OPDs further strengthen this commitment. Patients who cannot afford consultations are still welcomed with dignity.
This approach reflects a larger vision. Beyond managing a hospital, Diksha is building a health movement — one that focuses on accessibility, awareness, and equality.
Challenges as a Woman Leader
Being a 24-year-old woman in a senior leadership position comes with its own set of challenges. In an industry traditionally dominated by senior professionals, respect has to be earned.
In the early days, gaining the confidence of experienced doctors and senior staff required patience and consistency. She had to prove that leadership is not about age, but about accountability.
Breaking stereotypes was another hurdle. There were moments when her youth was questioned and her decisions doubted. However, instead of reacting emotionally, she responded with clarity, preparation, and performance.
Balancing strength with empathy has become her leadership style. She believes firmness is necessary in decision-making, but compassion is equally important in healthcare. This balance has gradually earned her the respect of her team.
A New Challenge Every Day
Healthcare does not operate on routine; it operates on urgency.
Each day brings unpredictability: A patient requiring immediate admission; an urgent surgery that demands quick coordination; a distressed family seeking clarity; or a staffing emergency that needs immediate resolution.
As Director, she stands at the centre of these moving parts. From ensuring beds are available to coordinating surgical teams, from handling administration to comforting attendants — she remains actively involved. Healthcare is unpredictable, and someone must take charge. She does so with calm strength.
The Person Behind the Professional
Beyond boardrooms and hospital corridors, Diksha is grounded, reflective, and deeply family-oriented.
What motivates her? Diksha says, “The simple idea that my work directly impacts lives keeps me motivated. Every recovery, every relieved smile, every grateful family reminds me why I chose to stay and lead.”
Handling stress in healthcare is not easy. Diksha says, “Emergencies can be overwhelming. Responsibilities can feel heavy. To manage it all, I believe in mental discipline and small moments of pause. Music, short breaks, and spending time with close family help reset”.
Her family remains her strongest pillar of support. Their belief in her during uncertain times gave her the confidence to continue. Diksha says that leadership may look individual from the outside, but it is strengthened by collective support.
Her journey demonstrates that leadership is not just about making decisions — it is about showing up every day, ready to handle the unexpected, and ready to care.
A Journey Still Unfolding
Diksha Panesar’s story is not just about running a hospital; it is about stepping into the unknown, embracing responsibility, and transforming challenges into opportunities.
Her journey sends a powerful message:
- You don’t need to come from a particular background to lead.
- You need the courage to begin.
- The strength to persist
- And the heart to care.
With unwavering determination and a patient-first philosophy, Diksha continues to shape Aadhya9 into a healthcare space where compassion meets excellence and where every patient is treated like family.
The journey has just begun. And with her vision, resilience, and commitment, the future of Aadhya9 Multispeciality Hospital looks not
