KVS 3rd Lottery Result 2026 declared for Balvatika & Class 1: Direct link and admission steps here
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has officially released the third lottery results for the 2026–27 academic session, bringing clarity to thousands of parents who had been awaiting admission for their children into Balvatika and Class 1.
The Sangathan published the lottery outcome for Balvatika on April 8, followed by the Class 1 results on April 9, 2026. For parents in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry—where the schedule was delayed due to the General Elections—the results were released on April 10. As of today (April 21), all provisional selection lists and waitlists have been uploaded and are accessible online.
Parents who completed the online registration process between March 20 and April 2 can now check their child’s admission status through the official KVS platforms:
- kvsangathan.nic.in
- admission.kvs.gov.in
How the KVS Lottery System Works?
Admissions to Balvatika and Class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalayas are conducted through a computerised lottery system designed to ensure transparency and fairness. Here is how the process worked this year:
Categorisation: After registrations closed on April 2, applications were segregated based on categories such as RTE, service priority, and reserved quotas.
Random Draw: A computerised lottery randomly selected candidates within each category.
Result Publication: The system generated provisional selection lists and waiting lists, which were then published on the dates mentioned above.
For higher classes (Class 2 onwards), admissions are conducted offline, subject to vacancy, and those lists are declared separately. Meanwhile, Class 11 admissions will begin after the declaration of the CBSE Class 10 results.

What Happens After the Lottery Result?
Since the results were released last week, parents of selected candidates are now in the critical document verification and admission confirmation phase. Here is what selected parents must do immediately:
Complete formalities within the stipulated timeline – Schools have set specific deadlines, most of which are nearing completion.
Submit required documents – This includes proof of age, residence, service certificate (if applicable), caste certificate (for reserved categories), and income certificate for RTE applicants.
Visit the respective school in person – Online selection alone does not guarantee admission; physical verification is mandatory.
Failure to complete the process on time will lead to cancellation of the seat, which will then be offered to waitlisted candidates in subsequent lists. Parents are advised to check their respective school’s notice board or website immediately for the exact deadline, as delays may not be accommodated.
