Alpha Movie Review and Release Live Updates: Alia-Sharvari film has ‘predictable plot,’ say early reviews; Hrithik Roshan’s cameo wins over audience
Alpha Movie Review & Release Live Updates: Follow Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s spy thriller with reviews, audience reactions, box office collection, advance booking, occupancy, and the latest updates from theatres.
Alpha Movie Review and Release Live Updates: Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead roles, is finally out in the theatres. Alpha was initially scheduled to release in December 2025, and was then postponed to April 2026, with the film ultimately releasing on July 3.
Alpha is the next part of the YRF-Spyverse and follows the Tiger series, Pathaan, and War films. In the film’s trailer, it was hinted that Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir, from War, will be joining Alia’s character in the film. Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra, Alpha also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles.
Alia and Sharvari visited the premiere episode of Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent Season 2 to promote their film, but besides that, the promotions have been fairly low-key, especially in comparison to the previous Spyverse films. The last Spyverse film, War 2, was a disappointment for the fans and it is yet to be seen if Alpha is able to revive the audience’s faith in the franchise.
Beyond the buzz surrounding its cast and concept, Alpha is also expected to make a decent start at the box office. Trade experts are projecting a Rs 7-8 crore net opening for Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s spy thriller.
@Bolly_BoxOffice posted via X, alpha First Half Nothing engaging so far. Even the action blocks fail to generate any excitement or leave an impact. aliabhatt never convinces as a spy. The screen presence, body language and commanding attitude expected from a character like this are simply missing. sharvari is severely underutilized and gets very little scope to leave an impression. Several portions feel outdated and forced, making the narrative drag. Overall, the first half is a real test of your patience. All eyes are on the second half now. It needs to deliver in a big way.”
X page Pan India Review’s interval review for Alia Bhatt’s film read, “alpha Interval Review: dhurandhar Fans it’s your day today This first half is VERY MUCH BELOW AVERAGE. A so-called supersoldier casually eating fries and junk food completely breaks the immersion. Both songs are absolute misses. The background score is genuinely impressive and one of the few positives. The screenplay feels rushed, with several scenes lacking impact. The Haryanvi accent doesn’t feel convincing by Bobby Deol. A number of moments that are meant to look cool end up becoming unintentionally funny. aliabhatt was expected to be the film’s biggest strength, but the writing lets her down. Apart from her terrific entry and a sincere performance, she doesn’t get enough impactful moments. sharvari has the stronger screen presence so far and is leaving a better impression. Please, second half… save this film. alpha alphareview aliabhatt sharvari.”
X user @RahulCh9290 shared his review for Alpha and wrote, “Just survived alpha. What was supposed to be a high octane spy thriller turned into a endurance test. The story is dull….. screenplay keeps testing your patience & the music is forgettable. aliabhatt looks completely miscast and struggles to make the role believable. Alia’s many of the stunts came across as unintentionally funny & her expressions often failed to match the gravity of the scenes. The action has a few moments but that’s nowhere near enough. bobbydeol and anilkapoor bring some credibility. sharvari tried her best but that couldn’t lift the movie. alphareview.”
User @filmy78499 posted via X, “alpha First Half One-Word Review: Average. The story is a flop, but the action scenes are good. The music is a complete disappointment. Alia fails to impress, while Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor deliver solid performances. Sharvari’s acting is just okay.”
X user @thefilmyyguyy posted his rraction on Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s film and wrote, “First half done ! alpha Good start. Alia’s entry & the action sequence were really good, She’s doing well. I did feel the pacing was off at times, with a few scenes & convo feel stretched. Sharvari good. Still feel Luthra should’ve been there instead of Anil. He feels dull.”
X user @vineetakumar_ shared her early reaction on Alpha and wrote, “bobbydeol looks commanding from scene one in alpha. It’s still too soon to say anything but Colonel Lakhawat seems to be the driving force of the film.”
X user @SAMTHEBESTEST_ shared his review for Alpha and posted, “alpha INTERVAL! This one’s going down. Agent entering enemy’s ghetto while eating French fries. Terrible! aliabhatt looks annoying with laughs & attitude but action scenes are good, while sharvari is filming Nike-Puma reels in Spain. RAW chief is thief & ex R&AW soldier becomes villain – We have seen it in pathaan captainamerica female version meets Judwaa meets MI.”

X user @iamshreytyagi posted a reaction on Alia Bhatt’s film and wrote, “alpha 1st half review: Plot is a combination of concepts from multiple Hollywood movies, but if you ignore that, it’s not bad at all… quite interesting to watch, not getting bored at all until now. It’s very tightly edited. Some technical details: • CGI and VFX looks good enough. They’re not realistic, but render quality is good so doesn’t look distracting. • Surround sound mix is very interesting • Although I’m watching in a 2K laser venue, DCP picture quality is exceptional. Colours too look outstanding, I’d strongly suggest a bright laser venue because the contrast, saturation, sharpness, everything is superb.”
X user @Rupa_53 posted a reaction on Alia Bhatt’s film that read, “Alia Bhatt enters the frame wearing a tank top and eating fries. She is pulling off some very good kicks, but honestly, none of them look impressive enough! Adding to these fight sequences is a very off and loud background score, and I can’t appreciate.”

Alia Bhatt will share screen space with Bobby Deol for the first time in Alpha. Talking about her experience of working with Bobby, Alia said in a statement, “I call Bobby Deol a gentle giant because he is a so overpowering on screen as a persona but has the most gentle soul. When we were doing our scenes together, I realised that he could do something that’s so unassumingly brilliant that even he was oblivious to his craft. That’s how good he is! It didn’t feel like he was ever trying to act. He is a natural.”
She added, “The director will come and say, ‘Bobby sir, what a shot!’ And he would say, ‘I have no idea what I did,’ and then Shiv would go.. ‘no sir, it was outstanding!’ And Bobby sir ka reaction will be ‘Haan achha? I don’t know what I did. Ok then. Do u need to give another take?’ He used to say this because he doesn’t know how to do the same thing again. It’s that brilliant. He is so in the moment.”
