Sunita ‘Suni’ Williams and Barry ‘Butch’ Wilmore, two NASA astronauts, have safely returned to Earth after a long and unexpected stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS) that lasted nine grueling months.
At around 3:30 am (IST), 17 hours after disembarking from the ISS, the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule carrying Williams, Wilmore, astronaut Nick Hague, and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov made a soft, on-target splashdown off the Gulf Coast of Florida close to Tallahassee, bringing them home.
