Cent Raises $15 Mn To Scale AI-Led Preventive Healthcare Platform
Bengaluru, October 28: Cent, a preventive health startup founded by Practo co-founder Shashank ND, has raised $15 million in a Series A round to expand its AI-led early detection platform. The round is a mix of equity and debt, co-led by Blume Ventures and existing investor South Park Commons.
Who else invested
Individual investors in the round include Arun Sarin, former CEO of Vodafone, and Srinivas Narayanan, former CTO (B2B) of OpenAI, along with Sharath Narayana, Krishna Sridhar and Aprameya Radhakrishna.
What Cent does
Cent is building a preventive healthcare platform that combines purpose-built hardware, AI-driven radiology and diagnostics, and bioinformatics. The idea is to spot health risks before they turn into serious conditions. The approach is meant to be more comprehensive than routine health check-ups that rely on a limited set of tests.
The company was founded in 2025 by Shashank ND, Anshul Khandelwal, formerly Chief Marketing Officer of Ola Electric, and Arpit Garg, formerly Product Head at Lenskart.
Medsee acquisition
Alongside the funding, Cent announced an acquisition. It has acquired Medsee, an AI-powered radiology reporting workflow platform built for qualified medical professionals, founded by Chitra Singh. indianstartupnews
Plans and targets
Cent has completed about 10,000 preventive whole-body scans across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi, and aims to reach 10 million scans by 2035. It has also set a long-term goal of helping save one million lives through early detection.
The company plans to prioritise clinical and engineering hires to refine its models, which are intended to set a standard for preventive protocols in India and possibly global markets.
What the founders and investors said
Co-founder Anshul Khandelwal said the funds will let the company go deeper into AI, medical imaging and clinical research, and build preventive health infrastructure in India that can serve the world. Blume co-founder Karthik Reddy said the firm backs the vision of taking this from India to the world.
What to watch
Like many diagnostic startups, Cent will need to build trust with hospitals and clinical partners for its technology to be widely adopted.
