Deepak’s Rise to Success: An Entrepreneur’s Tale
Deepak embarked on his entrepreneurial journey with limited knowledge and experience in advertising and marketing. However, his vision and determination drove the company forward. Dev Industries began its operations in South Extension Part 1 on August 1, 2014, with a team of over 15 to 20 individuals focused on execution, marketing, and sales. The initial clients included regular retailers, small shops, and various small outlets.
Initially, Deepak and his team visited various shops, where they explained their business to different retailers and small store owners, highlighting the importance of a marketing strategy in building a successful venture. They faced numerous obstacles, including negative feedback from retailers and a lack of substantial income. However, they persevered and learnt lessons in the advertising business. The team worked hard and satisfied numerous retailers across various sectors, and by 2016, Dev Industries had gained great recognition in South Ex.
Overcoming Major Obstacles: Demonetization and COVID-19
The government’s demonetization act of November 8, 2016, severely impacted Dev Industries. Projects halted, payments stalled, and contracts were cancelled. “Everything grounds to a halt. Salaries, operations, office space rental, everything became hard to handle,” Deepak recalls. The company had to release some team members, downsizing to a core team of 10.” To adapt, Dev Industries pivoted in 2017 by working with bigger agencies and taking on corporate branding work, introducing new revenue streams. Just as the business began to stabilise, the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, causing another setback. Projects were cancelled, and lockdown restrictions made on-ground work impossible. The company faced a choice: pause or pivot.
Remarkable Achievements and Milestones
Dev Industries has made significant strides throughout its journey, marked by collaboration with one of the largest multinational companies to develop new printing and fabrication factories.
