Dune: Part Two, starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya and following Denis Villeneuve’s epic Dune: Part One, will be re-released in Indian theaters on March 14 for a limited run, Warner Bros. India said on Monday.
The news comes following Dune 2’s twin Oscar triumph at the 97th Academy Awards. Dune: Part Two won two Oscars, including Best Sound and Best Visual Effects, during the March 3 presentation in Los Angeles.
‘Dune: Part Two’ Returns to Indian Theatres for a Limited IMAX Re-Release
Warner Bros. India has officially announced the re-release of ‘Dune: Part Two’ in Indian cinemas for a limited 7-day run starting March 14. The announcement, made via X (formerly Twitter), read:
“Back in Cinemas, Bigger Than Ever. Relive the war for Arrakis in ‘Dune: Part Two’. Also in IMAX. Limited Run – 7 days only.”
Originally released in India on February 29, 2024, Dune: Part Two continues the epic saga of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) as he navigates the perilous deserts of Arrakis, seeking vengeance for his father’s assassination at the hands of House Harkonnen.
The film features an ensemble cast including Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem, reprising their roles from the first installment. Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux join the franchise in pivotal new roles.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts, the film boasts cinematography by Greig Fraser and a haunting score by Hans Zimmer, continuing the signature atmosphere of the Dune saga.
Fans of the sci-fi epic can once again experience the battle for Arrakis on the big screen, with IMAX screenings available for an immersive cinematic experience.
