EaseMyTrip, one of India’s leading online travel platforms, has issued a strong statement denying any association with the Mahadev Betting App or any other betting platforms following recent searches by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED conducted raids across over 50 locations nationwide, including EaseMyTrip’s Gurugram office, as part of its ongoing investigation into the Mahadev online betting app-linked money laundering case.
In an official statement, EaseMyTrip emphasized its commitment to transparency, stating, “We categorically state that EaseMyTrip has no association with the Mahadev Betting App or any other betting platform. We have extended full cooperation to the authorities and will continue to do so.” Sources close to the investigation revealed that no incriminating evidence has been found at EaseMyTrip’s premises so far, reinforcing the company’s claims.
The searches, which spanned cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, Chennai, and Sambalpur, targeted multiple entities and individuals, including EaseMyTrip’s founder, Nishant Pitti. The ED’s probe focuses on the Mahadev Online Book, an alleged syndicate enabling illegal betting platforms to enroll users and launder money through complex networks of benami bank accounts.
EaseMyTrip, founded in 2008 by brothers Nishant, Rikant, and Prashant Pitti, has grown into India’s second-largest online travel platform. The company reiterated its focus on providing personalized travel experiences and maintaining operational integrity. The clarification comes as EaseMyTrip’s share price, which dipped nearly 7% amid initial reports of the raids, showed signs of recovery, trading 0.74% higher at ₹12.29 on the BSE.
As the investigation unfolds, EaseMyTrip remains steadfast in its cooperation with authorities, distancing itself from the controversy surrounding the Mahadev Betting App. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
