ICAI ca final exams -The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced a substantial adjustment to the test timetable for Chartered Accountancy (CA) candidates. Starting in 2025, the CA Final examinations will be held three times each year rather than twice a year as they are now. This move is consistent with the ICAI’s larger aim to expand student possibilities and improve examination system flexibility.
This development follows a similar decision taken last year, when the ICAI opted to hold Intermediate and Foundation course examinations three times a year. With the addition of the CA Final tests to the new framework, all three levels—Foundation, Intermediate, and Final—will now receive equal tries each year. These tests will be held in January, May, and September, guaranteeing a more organized and regular assessment cycle for candidates.
The ICAI stated that this reform aims to connect India’s CA examination system with worldwide best practices while providing students with increased convenience and opportunity. “The 26th Council of the ICAI has made the historic decision to expand the frequency of the CA Final test to three times per year. “This is a significant step forward in providing students with a more flexible and accessible examination process,” the ICAI said.
In addition, the ICAI has altered the timetable for the Post Qualification Course in Information Systems Audit. The Assessment Test for this course will now be held three times a year, in February, June, and October, rather than June and December as before. This adjustment is intended to improve access for members seeking this specific qualification.
These changes reflect the ICAI’s continued efforts to modernize the CA examination process, making it more user-friendly and responsive to the changing demands of the accounting profession.
