Apple has opened pre-orders for its latest iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in India from September 12, giving customers an early chance to secure the company’s newest flagship smartphones. The devices will officially go on sale in India from September 18.
India is among the first markets to receive the new Pro models, alongside countries including the US, UK, China, Japan, Germany, Canada and Australia.
iPhone 18 Pro Pre-Order Time in India
Apple confirmed that pre-orders in India began at 5:30 PM IST on September 12.
Customers can place their orders through Apple’s official online store and the Apple Store app. Authorised retailers are also offering pre-booking options.
The phones will become available for purchase from September 18, when customers can also collect devices from Apple’s retail stores in India.
iPhone 18 Pro India Price
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,79,900 for the 256GB model on Apple’s India store. The higher-storage variants go up significantly, with the 2TB version priced at ₹3,29,900.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at ₹1,79,900, with the top-end 2TB model priced at ₹3,29,900, according to Apple’s India launch pricing.
Customers may also be able to reduce the upfront cost through eligible cashback, trade-in offers and financing options available through Apple and participating retailers.
Four Colour Options
Apple is offering the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in four finishes:
- Black
- Silver
- Glacier
- Burgundy
The new Burgundy finish is one of the more noticeable changes to the Pro lineup, giving buyers another colour option beyond Apple’s traditional premium shades.
A Major Camera Upgrade
One of the biggest upgrades in the iPhone 18 Pro series is the camera system.
Both models feature a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. The technology gives users greater control over how much light enters the camera and can provide more flexibility for photography, particularly in different lighting conditions.
Apple has also introduced new Pro controls in the Camera app, allowing users to customise frequently used camera settings more easily.
For photographers and content creators, the variable-aperture system could be among the most significant changes in this generation.
Powered by A20 Pro
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, paired with a next-generation vapour chamber designed to improve sustained performance.
Apple says the new hardware delivers its highest sustained performance yet in an iPhone.
The company has also focused heavily on battery performance, with the Pro Max receiving particularly large improvements. Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro Max can deliver up to 43 hours of video playback.
Smaller Dynamic Island and New AI Features
Apple has also made the Dynamic Island smaller, while continuing to integrate its AI capabilities into the iPhone experience.
The new Pro models run iOS 27 and include the next generation of Apple Intelligence along with an updated Siri AI experience.
Apple is positioning the new Siri as a more capable personal assistant that can make use of personal context while maintaining the company’s focus on privacy and security.
iPhone 18 Pro vs iPhone 18 Pro Max
The two models share most of their core technologies, including the A20 Pro chip and upgraded camera system.
The Pro Max, however, is aimed at buyers who want the largest display and the longest battery life available in the iPhone 18 Pro range.
It also offers higher storage configurations, making it particularly relevant to professional users, photographers, videographers and consumers who store large amounts of media on their phones.
When Will the iPhone 18 Pro Go on Sale?
While pre-orders started on September 12, customers in India can officially purchase the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max from September 18.
Apple has included India in the first wave of availability, meaning Indian buyers do not have to wait for a later international rollout.
What Buyers Should Know
For customers planning to pre-order, deciding on the preferred storage capacity and colour in advance could help make the process smoother, particularly if demand is high for specific configurations.
Buyers should also compare Apple’s direct purchase options with authorised retailers, as financing, cashback, exchange and other promotional offers may vary.
With its new camera system, A20 Pro chip, improved battery performance and expanded AI capabilities, the iPhone 18 Pro represents Apple’s push to make its Pro lineup more capable for both everyday users and professionals.
For Indian consumers, the key dates are straightforward: pre-orders began September 12 at 5:30 PM IST, while retail availability begins September 18.
