ISRO the Indian space industry, offers tremendous opportunity for the private sector: ISRO CHIEF
Recently, ISRO has successfully conducted a long-duration test of its PS4 engine re-design for production using cutting-edge additive manufacturing techniques which is also known in common parlance as 3D printing and crafting in the Indian industry. ISRO successfully tests 3D printed rocket engine for a duration of 665 seconds.
As ISRO chairman Somanath has said, the Indian space industry is offering a tremendous opportunity to the private sector in the country as a new area of growth and development. He said that the union government envisages the space sector in the country becoming a 9 to 10 billion dollar industry in the next 5 to 10 years from current levels.
After unveiling the carbon reduction initiative of SFO technologies, the flagship company of the NeST Group , Somanath, announced this at a function on Saturday.
He also said that the 400 private sector companies have benefited from the technology developed by the ISRO for its various missions. Companies like SFO Technology is well-positioned to take for advantage of the new policy initiative in the space sector by the government of India.
He announced that the Indian space industry is offering tremendous opportunity for the private sector in the country as a new area of growth and development.
Besides planting a sapling at the NeST Hitek park to mark the occasion, Somanath also unveiled a replica of Chandrayaan at the campus, highlighting the corporation of SFO technologies and ISRO.
After that, he interacted with the NeST engineers and management team. The carbon reduction initiative of the nest group is in tune with the United Nations’ objective of achieving a 50% reduction by 2035 and zero emission by 2040, the release said SFO technologies have a close association with ISRO for many years it said adding that the two have worked in multiple programs such as RF subsystems for chandrayaan and Aditya missions, manufacturing of antenna systems, and cryogenic engine control systems for launch vehicles.
NeST group chairman and Jahangir said discussions are on with ISRO for various projects including ambitious ‘Gaganyan’ mission aiming to carry human beings to the space for the first time.
SFO Technologies and the next group are committed to protect the environment and reduce the emission of carbon, said AlthafJehangir, CEO and Executive Director, SFO technology is hardware and manufacturing. He also said that they have signed agreements with multiple partners to create a model of being a social responsible organisation by minimizing carbon pollution. Nazneen Jehangir CEO and executive director Next Digital also spoke on the occasion, the release added.
