The announcement of the results of the Bihar Police recruitment exam was the direct cause of the current outburst. Numerous successful applicants were attributed to both institutions.
Days after the dispute first surfaced, a fierce rivalry between two of Patna’s most well-known coaching centers has escalated into a full-fledged crisis, with one educator imprisoned and another facing a similar danger, and there are no indications that it will stop.
According to NDTV, the rivalry between Gyan Bindu GS Academy, led by Raushan Anand Sir, and Khan Global Studies, overseen by the well-known Khan Sir, has been going on for a while. Both organizations are based in Patna’s Musallahpur coaching hub.
What caused the disagreement?
The announcement of the results of the Bihar Police recruitment exam was the direct cause of the current outburst. According to the NDTV story, both institutions claimed credit for a huge number of successful candidates—12,000 for one and 10,000 for the other. Following this, associates from both sides started destroying each other’s advertising posters, which ultimately resulted in physical altercations.
Particularly explosive was the disagreement over the Bihar Forest Range Officer results, which were announced in February. According to the study, both coaching centers simultaneously claimed topper Abhishek Kumar, also known as Abhishek Patel, and each produced records to support their claims. According to Khan Sir, his institute produced eighteen of the twenty-four successful applicants.
Abhishek Patel went to Khan Sir’s center on March 28 to receive congratulations. According to the NDTV story, this behavior infuriated Raushan Anand, who retaliated by making his WhatsApp conversations with the student public. In these conversations, Abhishek Patel was seen discussing homework, and Anand accused Khan Sir of bribing the top student Rs 10 million to change loyalties. The accusations have been refuted by Abhishek Patel.
But this was by no means a unique incident. According to the report, every year after the Bihar Police sub-inspector test results, a similar disagreement breaks out, with both sides exchanging claims about the number of successful students and toppers.
What is the core of the rivalry?
The physical center of this competition is the Kisan Cold Storage campus in Musallahpur, which has long been recognized as Patna’s top coaching center. According to the research, up until 2018–19, it was home to about 20 tutoring centers of various sizes, including Gyan Bindu and Khan Global Studies.
The COVID-19 epidemic significantly altered the situation. By the time many smaller centers closed, Khan Sir had amassed a sizable fan base. He built buildings on campus and occupied the offices and hallways left empty by the closed centers as part of his ambitious expansion. According to the report, Khan Global Studies now controls most of the classrooms in Kisan Cold Storage.
Adarsh, a teacher at Gyan Bindu, claimed that Khan Sir wants complete control over the institution. There are currently just six coaching facilities left. According to NDTV, the region, which encompasses the Bazar Samiti, Mahendru, and Musallahpur Haat sectors, is regarded as a desirable location for coaching colleges.
According to locals, the campus owner is perceived as favoring Khan Sir since he has significantly extended the campus and pays a high rent.
According to reports, the owner, RB Prasad, denied this, stating that he has no animosity toward anyone and only wants the school to produce the greatest number of qualified applicants.
In what ways did hostels contribute to the violence?
According to the study, the Musallahpur coaching belt is also infamous for the impact of student dormitories, which have frequently made news for violent episodes, including searches that found bombs and explosives on their property.
Raushan Anand has accused Khan Sir of using Patel Hostel residents against him on several occasions. Display panels and office furniture were smashed during an attack and vandalism at Gyan Bindu’s coaching center in 2023.
According to the report, Raushan Anand accused Khan Sir of giving hockey sticks and clubs from Khan Sir’s own office to the attackers, whom he said were from Patel Hostel.
In response, Khan Sir has charged Raushan Anand with planning bombings and inciting attacks on his employees by way of students from competing dormitories.
According to the report, he filed a complaint with the police in March 2021 after accusing Raushan Anand, his brother Prince, and others of breaking into his classroom, using violence, and causing damage.
Bombs were detonated at Khan Sir’s coaching facility in 2019. According to the NDTV article, Raushan Anand’s brother was attacked in 2023, a display board was destroyed, and he sustained a head injury that required eight stitches.
How does the war of words appear?
In addition to physical altercations, the two adversaries have waged a protracted and intense verbal battle that is frequently subtle but obvious to those who follow either professor. According to the report, Khan Sir, who has millions of social media followers, is derided by competitors and even some pupils as a “reel teacher,” a term that Raushan Anand has regularly used.
Following Khan Sir’s 2023 appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, Raushan Anand revealed to the class that Khan Sir had allegedly paid a public PR firm lakhs of rupees to obtain the appearance. “There is a difference between reel and real,” he told the children, according to the story. Connect with your true self instead of your reel persona.
Meanwhile, Khan Sir has accused Raushan Anand of using his fame to get popularity. According to the article, Khan Sir subtly warned students not to visit his tutoring center, which is often known as the “Daroga Factory” or Sub-Inspector Factory. You will work as a laborer if you visit a factory. Do you want to be an officer or a laborer? Think about it.
